But after two non-playoff years, Knick fans don't know what to think, and Marbury heard his first Garden boos in March during the apex of his Brown feud.

"It didn't upset me at all," Marbury said. "That's the climate that was set. It was about how the team was doing. And I think fans knew I was being asked to play a certain way."

Yesterday, Marbury responded to Charlie Ward, dealt in the 2004 blockbuster, who piled on two weeks ago when he said, "Everyone wanted a superstar point guard when I was there. They've got a big name now and they're dealing with the consequences."

Said Marbury, "What I have to say to Charlie Ward is he's not playing and I am. Charlie is looking for a job. I'd rather be in my position than his any day of the week."

just more proof that this idiot just doesn't get it & never will... always deflecting blame instead of facing up to the boos that were directed at HIM when he was playing like crap... Marbury's prouder of his #'s & career stats than he's embarassed about never having made an NBA Finals, much less get close to playing on a championship contender... funny how he's always saying he's all about winning games, when every idiotic statement that ever comes out of his mouth & all his attitude on & off the court denotes otherwise... am i the only one on this board who can't stand to even see this guy in a Knicks uniform at this point? he's a disgrace!

So Stephon says he wants to “die a Knick.” Who cares? He’s from NYC and loves to party balls with Jay Z at NYC clubs. NYC is the biggest sports market around so they have to pay him more $ and he is a huge star. Dolan is a complacent owner who will tolerate the Knicks sucking. So big surprise he wants to stay in NY: The City is a consequence-free playground for him, and Isiah and the rest of the idiots in the front office won’t ever hold him accountable for being a ball-hog, lazy player, awful defender and ego maniac who is decidedly past his prime. I think that has a lot more to do with lifestyle and laziness than any commitment to winning or to the fans of New York.

Steph is dumb and has a big mouth. Life goes on. Just like Brown has a rep for some poison relationships with his "star" players he's also got a rep for turning them into some incredible results. Talk about how he wanted AI and Billups (add Marbury?) traded till your blue in the face. Bottom line is AI won scoring titles, an MVP and carried his team to the finals. Billups clearly became a better player, said he became a better player, and said it was because of Brown.

This is where you NEED a strong GM with Brown because in some regards he's just as big a pain to deal with as a star player with an attitude problem. That being said those are the same stars that win games and Larry's proven his worth there.

MSG is such a sorry bunch bunch of pu$$ys its offensive. Not one has a dick big enough to put Marbury AND Brown in their collective places and set this thing right. Instead we have Anucha-gate.

the team has been in decline for years. were in a pit right now--we have to continue adding athletic skilled talent and trying to stay away from the mistakes of the past.

JMO, but the up and coming teams in the east toronto clev atlanta chicago orlando charlotte have higher talent levels among their youth--where does that leave the knicks--were sitting in the conudrum of mediocrity and the reality of getting out is slim. we need a game changing type player a star that we dont have we dont have a chris bosh a lebron james a dwight howard we have some pieces that may or may not go around it and some aging name vets. were stuck and this sht that we will become pheonix suns east wont work with what we have.

Holfresh... this is where our pansy GM hurts us also. He should be telling Brown the same thing.

Isiah to Marbury: do exactly what coach Brown asks or you will end up in Atlanta or Portland.
Isiah to Brown: Marbury isnt going anywhere, and he's a good player. Make it work. If its an effort problem I will deal with it. If its an Xs and Os problem its on you.

except Knick land is more like this:

Isiah to Marbury: I'm sooo sorry your not happy. I will do everything I can to make you happy.
Isiah to Larry: I'm sooo sorry these guys arent trying hard enough. We will work on getting you guys next year.

Fish didn't Thomas tell both guys that. He told Marbury he better listen to coach and would be traded if he doesn't. Brown took exception to Thomas telling him that (strange as though it sounds). Thomas wanted to suspend Marbury but Brown said no, he was coaching him. So you got some serious Jedi s$$t going on there. Thomas then told Brown he needs to coach the current roster better and many people on this same forum took exception to that. Thomas is damned if he tries or he doesn't.

Well it took Isiah a full year to stand up to Brown and it still remains to be seen if he has taken Marbs to task which is what he really needs...I'm just waiting to see how this plays out the next few weeks....

Gotta admit on thing.

Its really freaking weird the way this thing is dragging on and on!

The leak, the secrecy, and lack of any communication of what is going on!

Morons.

I hope Stern is involved as Dolan has lost control of his team.

One thing we need is unity on any decisions.

Isiah has taken Marbury to task once before... he bawled him out for playing like crap last year, & Marbury started to play really well for a short stretch of games... i don't put this on Isiah... this is all on Marbury & his inherent unwillingness to conform to any ideal of unselfish team oriented play for any extended period of time... his own ego & stupidity are his worst enemies.

based on how they both (LB+Marb) behaived I would say Isiah didnt, or he did in such a way that it was token at best.

Everyone made such a big deal of Brown calling guys out in the press, but didnt Isiah call Marbury the worst defensive guard in the NBA? Didnt Marbury then play very hard defense for... well, at least a couple weeks?

I think its obvious that there is a lot of token effort as far as leadership. You have to lean on these guys every freakin game. Two games on and one game off does not = good effort. So where does the pressure for more effort come from?

True. Brown's biggest problem with Marbury that he stated before the Olympics and during the season was that he knows what Marbury is capable of but refuses to do. Brown has a big problem with Marbury because he said he doesn't want to play like the typical point guard.

this has very little to do with Steph.

This is just a PR move to make him look good, and put LB in a rough spot.

Nothing out of the ordinary in JD's clownhouse.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

how exactly does a statement made by Steph have very little to do w/him?

The moment I read the title of that article, I had a vision of someone asking, "if he dies a Knick, does he come off the cap?" Haha, that's horrible isn't it?

LOL...First thing I thought was...um..never mind...I don't want to get in trouble.
