I don't think its worth moving up from pick 6- at that spot you still have a shot at Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Tyrus Thomas (maybe), Shelden Williams and Patrick O'Bryant.

It's a good pick to have- thats why its unlikely we'll be able to get it!

Mind you you the T-Wolves are in a terrible situation contract and talent wise- I think worse than even us!

let's just say, for argument's sake, that MIN would take back Marbury in exchange for that #6 pick & their garbage contracts... there's a question of roster space that you need to account for... right now, we have 12 players under contract for next season, as well as 2 young FA's that are likely to be resigned (Butler & Woods)... add to that 3 1st round picks as well as the 3 veteran players that would be coming back in any Marbury trade to MIN, & you're talking about buying out & releasing a TON of salary in order to accomodate this trade... do u think Dolan would agree to it? i don't know.

You beat me to it. I don't think Dolan does it, it doesn't make good business sense for him. Lose the top money earner on your team AND buy out a bunch of scrubs to make roster space? not gonna happen.

Fans will go to the knick games whether marbury or billy crystal was playing PG. Marbury doesnt make jack sht for the knicks

Are you serious? Someone find the article on player jersey sales. I think Marbury was top five or ten in the league!

Marbury, David Lee, and the #29 pick for Marko Jaric, Marcus Banks (resigned at MLE), Eddie Griffin and #6 pick. that trade works under the salary cap, keeps the roster spot situation under control, and makes sense for both teams IMO.

Minnesota Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
1st Round #6 Pick
Trenton Hassell
6-5 SG from Austin Peay
9.2 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.6 apg in 32.7 minutes
Marko Jaric
6-7 SG from Serbia-Montenegro (Foreign)
7.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.9 apg in 28.1 minutes
Mark Blount

1st Round #20 Pick
Stephon Marbury

16.3 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 6.4 apg in 36.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: -12.0 ppg, -7.5 rpg, and -1.3 apg.

Successful Scenario
Due to Minnesota and New York being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and New York had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

oh wait I dont think that works. I keep forgetting that I have to use the salary figures for next year, not this year. marbs makes 18 mill next year. itll be hard to match the salaries without taking back a boatload of players. but Ill try to come up with something.

yeah but you see the thing is we cant really ask for blount, becuase as mediocre as he is he's the only center they have. if we did ask for him we'd have to give them another center somehow.

^ But why would the wolves even think about giving up Griffin? He actually plays and they need big men.

i dont know what the realm is here but i do think it can get done

that would put us in a pool for one of the following

Marcus Williams
Tyrus Thomas
Patrick Obryant
Rudy Gay
Lamarcus Aldridge
Adam Morrison

I think bargani is going to be pick1 after that I think this is the next pool down and they really could go anywhere

i dont think we need to buyout anyone that doesnt have a 1 yr contract

and we can try to void JJs contract if he comes in fat.

Id like to see us add 3 guys from the draft like we did last year

get rid of marbury and possibly get rid of Francis
were rebuilding we need another draft like last year and then keep the guys together. thats one reason i am upset that we let trevor go, i wanted to keep all the young guys together.

if you end up with 9-10 guys long term--you also get some cost control

then if you need to add a sam cassell for 2 years here to be a leader, rely on some of the vets here but most importlantly let the young guys grow on the court
RIP Crushalot😞

Maybe throw in the 29 pick.

Marbury, Re-signed Butler, 29th

for

Hudson, Griggin, Jaric, 6th

Hell, we could package the 6th and 20th to get the 5th pick from Atlanta (assuming we let Williams or Foye go to them).

At 5 or 6, we'd be in play for T2 or Brandon Roy, 2 guys we could really use.

Of course if they're not available, we shouldnt do that trade.....
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'd do that even if we had to include the 20th or 29th pick (but I'd buyout Hudson). I'd probably prefer to include the 29th pick than Butler. He's a 6'10" kid with a good attitude who plays hard. You're taking a risk if you want to come out with something better than that with pick 29.

Pick 6 doesn't have to bring us a player as good as marbury- just a solid young player much cheaper.

Also, there could be some three way action going on-
