great game. i love that tim thomas is not only make the knicks look bad, but the bulls look horrible. why couldn't he snatch huge rebounds here and guard the likes of Brand and Nowitzki? sigh.

these are the last men standing...

dirk, nash, wade/shaq, chauncy/ben

all mvp candidates. and nash is showing everyone why he deserves that award.

they said it on the telecast. it's not a coincidence it's a contract year for the tin man.

amare who?

marion is bigger than bowen so he will give dirk alot more problems.

this may sound nuts, but I think with diaw instead of amare the Suns are actually far less predictable and harder to guard. of course, next year if Amare is back with Diaw and Marion and Nash and Bell and TT and Jones and Barbosa and House...sigh... man...

I really think the nba should go to the nfl system of non-guaranteed deals. too much loafing around the league. can you imagine a league where Jerome James and Tim Thomas were actually trying to earn their next paycheck every night? it'd be nuts. the players association would never go for it, obviously, but it'd be great for overall competition.

you can't argue with nash, but dirk was my no.1 this year. nash was my no.2.

mavs are in trouble if Josh Howard can't come back in game 2.

TT always stepped up in the playoffs. If it was all about the contract he'd have stepped up right quick in Chicago.

With TT it's always about focus. Just hard to know how to focus him.

or...make gm's stop doling out big $$$ deals. it has to come from the gm's to regulate the size and length of the contracts given to players but so many of them are desperate and stupid. if a player doesn't agree to the years/$$$'s, then you say "thanks but no thanks".

unfortunately, the last time he was in the playoffs was his contract year also.

it's funny you say focus b/c tim uses that stupid "you can't see me" hand wave. which is very appropo b/c sometimes he's there and sometimes he's not.

I think this year is their best chance. San Antonio is still a tough matchup for them. I don't think anyone else can run with them, especially if Josh Howard is banged up and Rip Hamilton/Sheed are banged up.

the players association would scream collusion if it happened on a large scale - and they'd be right. anyway, as it is now there will always be a team with cap room that has nothing to offer a guy but dollars.

I've been pulling for Phoenix all year, and BEFORE Amare went down, I predicted they would win the NBA title. How crazy would it be if they won it without him. I don't really think they have much of a chance against Shaq though, or Raweed, but who knows.

They still are getting Atlantas picks in the next few years. Might not be lotto picks if ATL gets better, but they have assets coming, and Amare.

They can afford to draft the next PG and groom him. Sucess breeds sucess.

Losing Bell is going to kill them. Marion is banged up. They are the best team in the nba with their full squad including amare and KT--that would give them their inside presence. Losing Bell having marion limping around and nash will wear down, I think the mavericks get them in 4 or 5 games from now. I hope not, Im rooting for the suns, but they need Bell, even if KT can give them 10-12 minutes

suns have the best pg in the league.
they have the most athletic and versatile player in the league.
they have the best adjustment players in the league.

how many time do we see nash and marion adjust their shots and still make them?

i think marion is officially the BEST "robin" in the league.
