how far can the Knicks move up?

mitchell and embry are on their way to italy right now to scout bargnani (who's playing the the euro playoffs).

colangelo said they may make a pick that will make some scratch their heads.
colangelo also referred to bosh as a "five".

bosh says toronto needs a pass first pg. somebody that's going to make everybody better and run the offense. not a guy that's going to look for his own shots. he also felt they had enough talented big offensive big men in him and cv. and he raved about tyrus.

all signs point to colangelo taking bargnani and bosh looks to be behind tyrus.

It would seem like a fair offer. Question is who does Portland want so bad that it would move up for? Aldridge? Is Bargnani+Jack worth Aldridge?

nba is all about skill now--the new rules changed the game--you look at boris diaw and think that a guy like shawne williams has a lot of the same physical atributes and skill sets 6-9/6-10 long arms with a handle who can pass rebound and score many ways. but he wont make it to 20 either:>(

I think where this cat Bargnani falls will determine the way the draft goes.


Btw, ain't it ironic -- the Hawks gave up almost the exact same package for Joe Johnson that we did for Curry.

Meanwhile, the Suns and Bulls are laughing all the way to the bank.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Well to be fair, they gave up a sure lottery pick, and Boris Diaw.

JJ is def. a baller, but whose to say Curry wont get better. Plus he's a Center.


I think both trades were equally bad.

But hey, both teams were desperate to get that certain guy.

they have Josh Smith and Josh Childress, losing Diaw to get one of the premier guards was a good mathematical risk.

by 2008 when all protection comes off, Atlanta may be a play-off team.

the other pick is from the Lakers or Celtics depending on the finish.

Not the same thing as NY trading its own pick then also swapping its own pick.

value-wise, the trades came about equal.


Diaw is gonna be an All-Star. Plus they get a sure lotto pick in the future, plus another 1st rounder.

Knicks gave up Sweetney, much less of a prospect than Diaw.

JJ is better than Curry, but ECity is a Center for 1, and he's still improving, has the potential to be dominant.


DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Look

if the Hawks decide tomorrow they want to trade Joe Johnson

29 28 teams (Isiah is not to bright when it comes to NBA personnel) will make an offer and give up value.

if the Knicks decide they want to trade Curry, half the GMs wouldn't touch it off principle, the remaining ones are going to lowball the hell out of NY.

they are both very good young players.

Exactly my point.

We're dealing with potential here, not straight up value at the time of the trade.

Curry COULD end up being a 20 and 10 type Center. Both teams gave up lottery picks plus a future 1st. So thats a wash.

So what it comes down to really is Sweetney for Curry versus Diaw for Johnson.


Catch my drift?
