and the problem is that throughout the course of the season, none of those concerns were alleviated. so all we have for him is hope. and if it doesn't work out, we're left watching the playoffs on tv and helping chicago become an elite team in the league.

Elite? LOL. most elite teams make it out of the first round. omg, the grass is always greener I guess. I know, I know, they have all that cap room to throw at Nazr Mohammed this summer... LOL. I thought this was the no whining thread?

helping chicago BECOME...as in, in the future, as in with the cap room we gave them, and the high #1, and with paxson running the show, yeah, they have the pieces to become an elite team in the league.

in this case dude, the grass IS greener. don't tell me you wouldn't trade chicago's situation with ours...

as Briggs said in another thread today - you look at all the teams left in the playoffs and they all have superstars. Eddy has a chance to become that. No one in this draft has a better chance. the Bulls are in the playoffs, have good young players, they're in a good situation. the draft pick was gone in October. whether Larry didn't try so hard to throw away the season and we gave them the 10 pick or 9 pick or the season imploded and we gave them the 2 pick, the pick was gone in October. I'm pretty happy with the talent base this team has. I'm furious with the power struggle going on between Larry and Isiah and it needs to be resolved one way or the other before the draft. I think their power struggle led to the bullsh!t Francis and Jalen trades as well as the record this season. you can't have the kind of mixed message. you can't have a Brown camp and an Isiah camp in the lockerroom.

I have a personal distaste for Larry, but obv one of the two needs to go more than any player. The draft pick being so high is a result of that struggle, and shouldn't be pinned on Eddy. Eddy is a great piece. Honestly, there aren't too many players I'd trade Eddy for in this draft. Tyrus Thomas is impressive, but he's hardly a complete player. All these guys have flaws. If we were giving up a shot at DWade or Bron or Dwight Howard, fine, horrible, catastrophic. I know folks here like to look at the draft and I do too, but let's realize, this is not the end of the world. We have a good talent base. We need a management/coaching staff that is 100% on the same page.

they have money to throw at Nazr or Joel or perhaps 4 time DPOY center Big Ben.

McK...Ben is not leaving Detroit. Nazr got benched in San Ant. Joel is a nice player, but he's not a difference maker. I mean, come on. If they use their cap room and draft pick to trade for Jermaine Oneal or something, you have me. But otherwise I'm not too impressed and I'm not going to worry about the Bulls. We have plenty to worry about here.

Eddy whose go to move is try and dunk through the defender has a better chance to become a superstar in comparison to say an Adam Morrison who can score from anywhere on the court, find people in the passing game, get to the line...the no realism thread

and we'll see about Ben leaving. Chicago, New Orleans are a couple of teams who would definitely pay him and he is unrestricted

okay, so you're being realistic with Big Ben on the Bulls and Adam Morrison not becoming a bust? He cried on the court. Cried. He's slow. He already has a nickname in the league - Dinner. He's KVH 2 at best.

I mean, you're lamenting the losing Morrison when we have a 23yr old 6'11" center who eviscerated the Mavs and forced them to change their starting lineup. I know it was a tough season, but you guys need to take off the Larry goggles and remember the good things these guys can do when they have a real coach who wants them to do well.

he cried on the court is supposed to be an idictment. He CARES.

Rumor has it Eddy cried when McDonalds stop selling McRibs. He's slow in a Jerry's Kids kind of way. He already has a knickname - Dinner. He's Oliver Miller 2 at best.

see, you have to resort to fantasy: the Bulls will get Big Ben, who will somehow leave Detroit after 4 straight years in the conf Finals or Finals and 4 out of 5 DPOYs on a team he loves in a city where is loved... Eddy Curry is slow. yeah, he's really slow, that's why he can't be guarded straight up by 95% of the league... Morrison cried on the court before the game was over. I don't really care about that, but this fantasy that he's anything more than a shooter who will be far too slow to guard Lebron and Paul Pierce and Marion and Jamison and Josh Howard and Prince.... come on, man.

and by harping on Morrison's crying on the court, I don't really care about that - but do you really think a guy like that has the mentality for playing in NY? I don't.

eddy curry is a very solid offensive player when he is on, one of the more dominating ones. but hes not a two-way player--he doesnt show up at times he seems to be injured quite a bit block shots? rebounds? passing? running? defense? the word superstar and eddy curry are far apart unless you are talking about 25 games on offense out of 82.

the thing that if eddy curry stayed 4 years stuff is rediculous. but thats not even my problem--my problem is this is a guy NO one wanted in FA that year could not get insurance and was offered 20mm by the bulls to retire.

my problem is going from that to giving up what we did--the negotiating was the worst maybe in nba history. also ill say it again there will be multiple players who are better than eddy curry in this draft

I think the problem was, that the game was not over, his team had the ball, down by 2 with time to get a shot off. Crying in that instance was ridiculous!!!

my point about Curry is that the draft is all about potential. if NBA GMs were looking at Curry's potential in the draft he would be the number pick hands down.

McK1, saying he's Oliver Miller 2 at best is jumping to conclusions a little fast, b/c first off, we just don't know how he'll come into camp next season. So we wont know about that for awhile. But he's been terribly dissapointing so far, and it's proving to be a terrible trade (As I thought it was, at the time it was made.) Isiah really played himself bad on this one. Very narrow minded GM. Veeeeeery narrow minded.

Stephon Marbury somehow survives in this league and he can't guard his position. and he is "athletic"

And what kind of guy that can't be guarded by 95% of the league plays 25-26 minutes and tires out plus averages more turnovers than assists steals and blocks combined?

I didn't read that post. For myself, I'm not a huge Adam Morrison fan, but he's still ultra aggresive on the offensive end, and Keith Van Horn really isn't. He needed and needs to be nurtured (Sp?) for his play to be elevated, and Adam doesn't seem like he does. But big wow. Regardless, I think AM will be a very good player in the league.

did you see Stern's interview.

he is limiting the potential quota in drafting. Thats why the age limit is in place. you get a chance to see guys against top competition so you don't have situations like 2001 when Kwame Chandler and Eddy are 3 of the first 4 picks and have th eability to do nothing to elevate a franchise from that selection.

KVH was a pretty damn agressive offensive player in college. Clutch too.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

its not about Morrison.

it about giving up a no. 2 pick, the right to swap, 2 second rounders, a young cheap post player, plus millions in cap room to a conference rival and already better team for a guy who they were going to pay 200K a year to retire and even when he was healthy could only play effectively for 25-26 minutes a night tops.

no way to spin that

My friend, you don't have to tell me twice about why that was a terrible trade. I've been preaching it for months. lol

curry has already eclipsed anything fat ass oliver miller has ever done, curry is 10x the athlete, miller was, and you know that.... Adam morrison will be lucky if he can be as good as KVH was his first few years in the league.... Morrison has yet to hit one basket in this league. So the chances of morrison being KV2 are much greater than curry being miller who he already eclipsed...
