Has anyone even mentioned baron davis in a knick uniform at all on this board? What do guys think of that?

Larry endorsed baron like he was his lover when the knick played gs.

I'd love to see a baron for Francis deal. Baron is a better passer and can actually take over games down the stretch.

Also is you go to reebok.com baron davis has a little video on there saying how much love he has for nyc.

Get er dun.

Larry loves every player that's not his. Then whines about them when he finally gets them. It is a pyschological problem, I am sure Marv knows this, it is called the Bitch syndrome.

dj, you forgot Theo Ratliff, Eric Snow...
These are guys that LB wants.

if lb wanted eric snow, he would be a knick already.
if lb wanted ratliff, he would be a knick already.
as exhibited by francis. lb wanted him, right? so he's a knick.

and if they were knicks, eric would be accompanied by drew and ratliff with dmiles. so in essence, those guys would be the throw-ins, not the centerpiece.

again, george lynch was a free agent all year. but we didn't pick him up. why? isn't he the quintessential lb type of player?

you guys kill me.
And you kill me. Larry must not want Brevrin Knight then, because by your estimation, he'd have him already.

Zach Randolph.
To be fair, Zach had the surgery over the summer and just played 74 games averaging 18 and 8. On a good team, I'd say he ought to put up 15 and 10 and could easly manage that. His game doesn't rely heavily on athleticism. Hes crafty and rebounds by positioning ala Kurt Thomas. I'd take him, we have enough bad contracts that i wouldn't mind trading a couple of them for him. A trade for him would be difficult to pull off without another team tho, but if it can be done in a way favorable for us (jerome and Q1), it makes a lot of sense.

mins ppg reb blk fg%
01/02 5.8 2.8 1.7 0.1 45%
02/03 16.9 8.4 4.5 0.2 51%
03/04 37.9 20.1 10.5 0.5 49%

if frye had a better season than zach his first two years, then there is no way i'm going to impede frye's development by bringing in a guy that's 24 and has 5 years left on that deal at max money. especially a guy that doesn't play one lick of defense.

you can look at it that way, or you can look at it this way:
Zach was 19 as a rookie. At age 21 he was a 20 and 10 guy, thats pretty remarkable.

At age 23 Frye is 12 and 5.

Frye doesn't play a lick of D either, AND he doesn't greab alot of boards. I'm not dissing Frye, because I really love him, but I can't sit idly by and watch poor arguments be made about a player who is a great talent. Frye has alot of catching up to do to be one day as good Zach who is only 2 years older.

poor arguments? the argument is why bring in zach instead of keeping frye.

the poor argument is investing $74 mil on a guy that had microfracture surgery b/c of a "hunch" he won't get hurt again from a person with a non-medical background.

that argument is POOOOR.

now meet me in the parking lot at 3pm b/c i'll be waiting...

so if the choice was frye or zach, you would choose zach? b/c in essence, once you trade for a max guy like zach, frye is as good as gone.

Frye had a strained ACL.....which means parcial tear to some doctors.

I don't understand what you guys want.....Defense, defense, defense......yeah Detroit has got you brain washed. If a NBA team ever wins with a retarded hermaphrodite with one eye and a hunch back then you probably would be crying for one of those.

What I'm saying is that you want defense? So who do the Knicks get? I gurantee anyone you mention would either suck, be over the hill, or just be impossible for the Knicks to trade or sign.

No thanks to J-O or Tinsley. We dont need other team's washed up junk. And while we're at it, no thanks to Timmy Thomas. Maybe to Bonzi.

eny, all we want is one guy brought in. is that so much to ask? 50+ transactions by isiah and not one defensive minded player outside of malik (who just can't go). you need at least one f'n defender on your squad starting. and we dont'.

i don't remember the last NBA champion that didn't play good defense... not that hard to understand why some of us would want more defensive minded players brought in.

DJ do you remember Carl Thomas' first single?
It should be your theme song, because "You're Emotional"

Zach played 74 games after his surgery and put up 20 and 10 or something very close to it. not a Chris Webber 20 and 10, but a spry and lively 20 and 10.
I am not basing anything on a hunch, I base my opinion on the FACT that he played 74 games in the NBA directly after the surgery.

Is his knee really th issue here, because it doesn't seem to be one on the court. The point is, I like Zach, I think talent-wise, he is an elite big man. If we could get him, I think its something we should consider, for me it would depend on the package.

If we could get Amare, would you do it?

pass on zach. pass on amare. if amare is available, then something is up.

we've been taking nothing but risks. time to scrap all of that nonsense and build it from the ground up.

again, frye or zach? regardless of what the package is for zach, make a choice b/c that's what it will come down to.

carl thomas is a woman.

i'm more into the hardcore r&b singers...like ralph tresvant.

Zach is much better than Frye offensively, and Frye may never be as good as Zach. The package matters to me, but I would pick Zach over him, any other argument, imo, is based on an emotional attachment to a player's potential; and again, I freaking LOVE Frye. But Zach is like 2 years older at 24 and has a full NBA season under his belt after surgery, and an elite offensive reportoire, in the paint, on the elbow, top of the key, hes an all around PF. I'd do it.

does being a lockerroom problem figure into the equation at all?
