Kiki is OK at best. Aside from his initial moves, everything else is questionable. As far as Isaiah, he couldn't just come in and cut salary, cuz we still had H2O and KT and there's no way Dolan would want to just start a rebuild as long as H2O was still there. They didn't know that H2O wasn't going to be able to get healthy again. If you look at things from management's perspective. Steph, H2O and KT as the base of a team and just finding guys to fill in the rest was a good way to go at the time.

So Isaiah had to switch gears and he wasted no time in doing that, unlike Layden who would've froze and done nothing. So now Isaiah has Curry, Jamal, Frye, Lee, Nate, Quentin, Woods and Butler if he chooses to keep them all. and that's really not a bad group. Those weren't the guys who gave LB trouble. If he had played the young guys more and stuck with them, perhaps things might have been a little better. In any event, Isaiah still has bullets to fire and get this team going next year. Despite the record this team isn't far from contending. The last season just makes it seem that way. You can expect that the young players will come back better next year and with more confidence than their rookie year. Curry should be better, Woods should be better, Butler and Quentin might get his game back. Its really just about making some good moves and bringing in players that will do the little things and fill needs. To me that's easier than finding a starting Center or other important position. We have enough talent and mainly need role players. So in my opinion for the short time Isaiah's been here he's still on schedule, cuz many pros thought it would take 5 years for him to turn this team around. Its only some of you impatient fans who now make it seem like he should've easily had this team finished. Did Kiki get the job done? NOOOO! His team is still not a title contender, so what makes him so special?

how about fire Steve Mills & put Kiki in his place as Isiah's boss... that way, if Isiah ends up leaving or being fired, Kiki can take over... i'm not crazy about Kiki either, but it's an option.

Ah no thanks. The one man that makes Isiah look good. This guy had to put roots on Joe Dumars to get him not to take Anthony. The more I think about it, getting Kiki would be taking a step back from Isiah. He makes blunders in the FA market and he doesn't draft well, unless you want to give him credit for finding Carmelo Anthony, the NCAA player of the year coming off his championship. His best move was to trade for Camby.

i think Kiki would've done better to draft Chris Bosh or Dwayne Wade instead of Carmelo myself... but that trade to get Nene & Camby in exchange for McGimp was a stroke of genius, you have to admit... however, his #5 pick of Tskitishvili was probably 1 of the worst draft picks made by a GM in a long time... he's not my ideal, like i said, which is why i'd like for him to work WITH Isiah, because if nothing else, Isiah's proven to be a good judge of young talent in the draft, & Kiki's made better personnel moves in terms of trades than Isiah has... it might work.

to me it wasnt really that much of a stroke of genious, all he did was take advantage of the fact that during that time, one of the worse gm's in nba history was in office.(layden)

Does LB escape culpability?

to that i say "who cares?" again, he's the least of all the evils. the team blows. i don't care about the names on the back of the jerseys. i don't care about the name of the coach. the problem as a whole is bigger than the coaching job lb did this year. that's why i keep saying people that hate on lb are just diplacing the blame. i don't care if you like or hate lb, but all those posts that are anti-lb should really be anti-isiah. once isiah is gone, then the new guy can re-evaluate lb. but until isiah is gone, i'm not going to rag on a coach, especially one with a strong resume.

In other words, yes, LB does escape culpability. Try not to be so long-winded next time DJ.

Kiki took over a capped out team built around Raef, Van Ex and McDyess that wasnt winning. He turned that into a playoff team with some very good young players and a lot of flexibility. He didnt draft well, but he did execute a plan and turned around that franchise.

Its one thing to make moves that dont work out... moves like Skita, KMart and Nene (injury). Its another thing to just make BAD moves as our GM has done.

NVE & Lafrentz had 1 & 2yrs left on there contracts. Dice had 3yrs but his injurys had insurance covering im sure. Thats different from our situation. Though i got to give him credit for not thinking he was one player away from that 3. Layden & Dumars were big helps as well.

I say why not. We would get a new plan, new vision. And if it fails we get someone new to blame. Maybe keep Isiah to cover the drafting aspect.

Isiah had a plan to. That was to have a Marbury-Houston backcourt. Houston got hurt and Isiah couldn't recover. If Houston stayed healthy, then we make playoffs every yr. Everyones value looks higher and we would have been in better position to make better moves. Marbury & Houston's first yr together for the 28games they played were 17-11.
