Frye was a ROOKIE!!! I'm not going to kill the guy for being overwhelmed at times out there. The BULK of the time he was out there he was a positive and that's all we can ask from a rookie. He'll likely be much better next year. I think we have an buddingg Reggie Evans in Lee. His reb/48 mins was great all year. LB just didn't play him enough.
He too should come back better next year. Really I hate that this roster is judged off of this year so much, when really so many of the young players on the roster were low on NBA experience. Frye, Lee, Nate, Butler AND Woods didn't have a lot of NBA experience coming in. The vets we do have in Malik, Jalen and MO weren't even starters on their last teams. Quentin had a career worst season and Jamal was LOST for much of the year after LB took him out of the starting lineup to start the year. That really shook him up. LB should've left the Backcourt alone, since Steph and Jamal were the only players with any chemistry on the team. It would've helped to make the start of the year go a little smoother. Instead of 5 strangers on the court and ZERO chemistry.

^^i would not like to be 1 of ur young players....

the standard should be..."PLAY HARD AND PLAY SMART"

u cant blame the rooks for look lost out there when the point guard ( who's supposed to be larry brown on the court) is lost...u make no sense!!!

im saying thru all the confusion this year...frye still showed that he can play really well in this league and perhaps the best player on the team.

Had enough Melo?

Relax nobody is blaming them for being lost. That's what being a rookie is all about. These guys have all been cut major slack. I'm pretty sure everybody on this site is a Channing, David and to the most part a Nate fan. I'm happy to have all of them and hope they are a part of the roster for years to come.

That being said I have no problem with the way they were handled. Just playing hard was not good enough for them. They need to become winning players. Outside of a 4 or 5 game blip by Nate when he went after Brown I don't think any of them have shown me anything other than that they have the will and desire to help a team win.

That being said, reality is reality. At times they struggled, and that's why they didn't get 30-40 minutes a night. Our standards are set very high for them. Knicks fans will reap the benefits of this. Noone is complaining.

They struggled more due to the confusion between LB and his guards. Jamal was lost for much of the year. Steph was battling with LB and Nate was a rook who was a bit too wild to be reliable. Frye should have been a starter for much more of his time this season. I think he could handle it, especially if everyone else was holding up their end, which would've taken some of the pressure off of him. All of our vets had subpar years and that is going to make it tougher on the rookies than it should've been.

Young players also benefit from stability, which LB surely never provided this year. I expect a much more stable situation next year and I think our young players will produce much more consistently because of it.

I'm just different, and hopefully David and Channing are too. I don't want to hear that these guys struggled because of Marbs or LB or because the gosh darn sun was in their eyes. They struggled simply because they weren't ready. It's on them not to struggle. It's noone else's fault.

David is playing SF. Channing was guarding more perimeter guys than he has in his life. They struggled defensively simply because they don't currently have the skills to defend these types. This may change, it may not. We shall see. I don't think they are bad players because of this, I just think they have improvement to do. But you are right, they are rookies and should be allowed time to develop these skills

As for the offensive side. David struggled again because he was playing a new position and has not developed the skills yet to handle the switch. I think Channing's was more of the typical waiver of rookie confidence. He would go games where he's shooting shots with NBA all defensive players in his face. Two games later he's passing up wide open 10 footers. This is a confidence issue that will most likely disappear with time. I don't fear that it won't. But this is on Channing. Not on Marbs and not on LB. I have played on a million teams, with a million different roles. Parts of my game have struggled because of it. But it is my responsibility to work on those parts of the game so that I can become a more complete player instead of begging a coach to change the system to suit me. I think Channing will do this as well. Hopefully he will not be influenced by veteranbury's who think differently.

Next year I don't want anyone coming into camp with excuses for poor play. Champions get it done. Losers win 22 games and come up with a million excuses as to who is to blame for them not getting it done. Enough is enough.

same argument we've been through before. I'm the only one in this argument (among Bip, Allanfan, and other LB supporters) who wants effective play and high effort to be rewarded. The argument's going nowhere b/c I won't deviate from that view.

Bonn: don't get tossed into the fray with the rest of the 12 year olds that think anytime you have an opinion it's because you love LB. This IS MY OPINION. This is the way I COACH. I could give to flying f's about LB. I dont' need anyone to shape my opinion. If you don't agree, fine, but don't insult me by dismissing it as "LB loving". You are better than that.
Who said Larry Brown loving? You're attacking me for something I didn't even say?

Well you did say LB supporter. Which is very similar. I guess it's semantics.

Try substituting the word "support" for "love" every time you speak for the next five years. It's a bit more than semantics!

I will take you up on that and see how it goes.

Just do me a favor. This is all I ask. When I state an opinion, take it as my opinion. Independent of what LB does or says. If LB and I happen to agree on a way of doing things than we just agree. I am not supporting him. I support the Knicks. That's all. But my opinion needs noone else.

I think Frye is legitimate. In two seasons, baring injury or skills deminishing or something like that, I think he could be a dominating player. If he comes to Duncan like play, stats, then we will be pretty lucky to have him. I'm very happy with the three rooks that Isiah has picked up for us. Theoretically, you could almost say that Curry is the fourth rook. Remember' Curry didn't go to college and he would have been entering the NBA at this time. The only good thing about that is, he comes with four years of NBA experience already.
I'll never trust this' team again.
