Who cares besides Dolan that K-Mart contract is insured? Doesn't effect cap at all. Only protects Dolan from paying out of Knick's pocket.

Well it is relevant to an extent, but its more relevant that insurance is an issue because said player has health concerns.

This is just what the Knicks need. Bring in a high character like Martin to join the other great teammAtes like Marbury, Francis, Rose, and Taylor. The Knicks have one quality person and winner on the team and that is Malik Rose and he isnt very good. They have to clean house but I think they will have to trade away the rookies for someone to take this players.

only trade i consider is taylor + q rich + 1st for K-mart + najera
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Why give up an expiring for an injured guy with 5 years and 70 million left?
Nah, I'd give up an expiring for a player that will really help us, not K-Mart.

I'd trade him for Steve Francis... If they'd be willing to take em!

Noooo to K Mart. I am sick of the starphucking. When are we ever going to learn? How about someone cheap, less talented, but with just as much heart, like Reggie Evans. Or if you really want a shotblocker and want to get someone expensive, why not go for Sam Dalembert? Why k Mart of all guys, who just had microfracture knee surgery? Haven't we learned from Allan Houston and Antonio McDyess, who is now just another 20 minute backup PF?

1. Reggie Evans would be nice, but i'd rather get KMart on the cheap & sign Jared Jefferies & solve 2 of my biggest holes i think.

2. what do u propose we use to get Dalembert?

I just want Reggie Evans or Jared Jeffries, hell both would be REAL nice but I don't think its possible. Both will do their jobs as well or better then Martin and come much cheaper. Evans would take care of the rebounding next to Curry and Jeffries can start at the 3 and be our shutdown defender. I propose...

Knicks sign Jared Jeffries to MLE.
Denver resigns Evans to MLE, then trades him and Najera to the Knicks for Steve Francis.
Any of you math guys know if that trade would work under the cap since I can't put it to the trade checker.

there's no way DEN's going to take on Francis' contract while they still have KMart on the books, so u can forget about that idea...

i'd rather have this team personally:

C - Curry / Butler / BT
PF - KMart / Frye / Malik
SF - Jefferies / Lee
SG - Q Rich / Jalen
PG - Crawford / Nate

that's a huge improvement in defense over the team we had this year... even if KMart can't play for much of the season, getting rid of Francis & Marbury allows the team to begin to have an identity... this team will never succeed w/either of those 2 as their best players.

Did the Francis to Denver rumors before the trade deadline include Kenyon? I can't remember.

I am firmly for getting this team to be full of defensive players. Defense is a lost art in the NBA and the teams that do play it, usually do pretty well. Offense starts with good defense and thats what the Knicks have lacked for the last 6-7 years. Lets get it back to the 90's style of play, slowed down and lock-down D.

I think it's an anti-starphucking move if you're getting rid of Francis for a solid two-way player. Francis offers nothing we need and is a waste of a roster spot. If K-Mart duplicates last year, he'll play good defense and be a needed tough role player for 24 mpg.

not sure if DEN is interested in Francis or not... i'm just saying i'd make the deal if it was available to us... DEN would get a bit of cap relief, & the Knicks get a player that adds some of the intangibles they are severely lacking in (if he can stay healthy obviously)... it's a huge risk, but not nearly as big as the one Layden took in the McDyess trade scenario... i love KMart's fiery intensity & passion when he's on the floor... he's exactly what this team needs... if u want a 90's style of team, then KMart is a good piece to add to the roster imo.

Martin would be an awsome force for us, but at this point, I'm against distractions on this Knicks team. Let me evaluate this: Artest left Indiana and became less of a distraction. Rasheed left the Blazers and the chemistry with him on the Pistons has been a dream. Rodman left the Pistons and seemed to get worse on the Bullscrap team, but there was Jordan to help keep him calm and in line. Would another chance in the NY/NJ area change Martin to use his strengths for the good of the team, or would we unfortunately be left with yet another dissapointment. I got to tell you, that is a really tough decision. But seeing that we only had 23 wins this season, I just can't see how it can get any worse. I think I would be willing to give it a shot, unless of course, the Knicks could had Kobe or KevenG. I think this will be Zeke's most challenging off season of all. It should be interesting. The Knicks seemed to be getting away further and further from fundamental basketball, especially when growing.
I'll never trust this' team again.

TMS, I don't propose anything, b/c it's all pointless to me, b/c chances are it wont happen. I have little interest in k Mart though, and no, I don't like having Francis either. I want all Francis, Marbury and K Mart outside of NY.

But for K Mart, I see microfracture knee surgery, and then I see him slowing down, losing his defensive quickness, which is why we would get him in the first place. He was never a terrific rebounder, he's not a true shotblocker (2 things we especially need) and his offense is overrated. David Lee might be a better overall offensive player, down the road.

The way I see it, I think we'd be better off settling for less, going for Evans, throw away Francis and/or Marbury elsewhere (no TMS, I have no proposals, and remember, just as many of mine from the past have actually happened, as the ones you did. Meaning, NONE)

Just remember, MF surgery is the beginning of the end surgery. I want no players with baggage at this point. We've taken on enough.

A-fan, anyone can say "get me this & get me that", but unless you can present a reasonably feasible plan to get what you're asking for, it's all just hot air... hey, i'd like the Knicks to go after Kobe Bryant & Dwight Howard too.
