I understand that, and I agree, but like I said, when I hear ball handling at the top of a list I assume it means more than dribbling enough to just make one move. You are right but all these PF's (minus Bosh, and Camby) are MAJOR beef.....Frye doesn't have that...yet....I agree, I would love for Frye to be a PF like the guys you mentioned, but I am seriously intrigued by Frye playing the SF spot...it is something I have talked about since the begining of the season...hey maybe I'm reading too much into this...but then again I would think if they want him to make ball handling a priority it has to be more than just so he can make a move to the basket.

why couldn't it be this simple. Don Nelson isn't coaching the Knicks, Larry Brown is.

“When I said I’ll play like Starbury I never meant I was going to be insubordinate and not listen to the coach. I meant I’ll play the way I play but, at the same time, incorporate his style AND my style.”

I played like Stephon Marbury this year. Next year, I'm going to play like 'Starbury.'"

Told that Brown said he'd like Marbury to play as well as he did before he suffered a shoulder injury on Jan. 16 that put him out for an extended period, Marbury replied emphatically, "Oh, he doesn't have to worry. I'm going to do everything that I did before he came here."

When it was suggested Brown might not want to hear that, Marbury said, "I don't care what he wants to hear. I'm telling you what I'm going to do."

sounds pretty insubordinate to me.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

the most important quotes from this article:

But that won’t happen without better communication, according to Malik Rose. “This last season, I think we all wanted to win,” he said. “But I don’t think we ever got on the same page about how exactly go about winning. There were misunderstandings on everybody’s part. The problem was not in the 42 different starting lineups -- I think Coach just wanted to get us on some kind of a winning roll and tried anything possible to accomplish that. He was trying every match-up, every possible combination.”

“It IS very important, however, to have as-clear-as-possible channels of communication between Stephon (Marbury) and Larry (Brown),” added Rose. “Larry, after all, is the coach -- and the point guard, quite literally, is the coach on the floor.”

“I have no doubt Steph and Coach can work together in harmony,” rookie Nate Robinson said. “They need each other. And we as a team need both of them in order to win.”

1. too much was made about the lineups. i never thought that was the problem this year, it goes way beyond that.
2. this year turned out this way MAINLY b/c of steph and lb. it's not media spin. it has nothing to do with trying to create drama. it's a FACT. that's the main theme coming out of EVERYBODY'S mouth.

Same thing happend in philly and Indiana...I see the same results coming out of it...the best player staying on the team and the Coach guiding him to the finals.

I understand that and if all they wanted was for him to be around the basket more as a PF Larry would tell him to work on his post up game. I think with Frye's thinner body-not great for creating space- and rebounding (which is not bad but not as good as you need from a PF, but is well above average from a SF), he may experiment.

Rasheed can dribble.

being able to put the ball on the floor is a necessary skill no matter what position. Amongst big men its one of those things that seperates players.

Not when he came into this league he could. He was extremely awkard trying dribble the ball in Washington and he had and still looks down when he dribbles. I notice that alot.

Yeah, I had that same question. That's when you know he is in real trouble and when Pop has to go off on Parker. Duncan is similar to Frye where they take one dribble and spot up to shoot or if they are in the post they drive to the hoop. And further more when did Howard become a dribbler. Bosh and Gasol are really the only ones that you don't think of my here comes the TO when they put that ball on the ground. So I am not sure what Brown is planning on doing with Frye, maybe it is to play him at the 3 or just more fundamentals that he wants him to learn. Guy is very coachable.
