AC-CENT-TCHU-ATE THE POSITIVE (Mister In-Between)
(Johnny Mercer / Harold Arlen)

You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between

You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene

(To illustrate his last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do
Just when everything looked so dark)

Man, they said we better
Accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No, do not mess with Mister In-Between
Do you hear me, hmm?

(Oh, listen to me children and-a you will hear
About the elininatin' of the negative
And the accent on the positive)
And gather 'round me children if you're willin'
And sit tight while I start reviewin'
The attitude of doin' right

(You've gotta accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between)

You've got to spread joy (up to the maximum)
Bring gloom (down) down to the minimum
Otherwise (otherwise) pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene

To illustrate (well illustrate) my last remark (you got the floor)
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they say (what did they say)
Say when everything looked so dark

Man, they said we better
Accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No! Don't mess with Mister In-Between

Assiah killed the franchise just like he killed the raptors franchise and the CBA league.. The dude knows nothing about building a championship team.. Horrible as mgmt/pres. of a club

I cannot believe kats on this thread is actually supporting a buffoon like Assiah..

Can u people see what the h#ll is going on.. Scott laydown didn't have the best coach, multiple of talent and over $125mill payroll.

At least Laydown didn't tie the franchise mark for most losses.. Assiah needs to go and soon.. you know when knicks fans are yelling out "FIRE ISAIH", there's a problem..

Silly post. I look at Isiah in terms of has he achieved his goals. He has. His goal was to change the team by bringing in new players. How can you deny that he has done this. He brought in a PG, a C, two shoooting guards, several forwards and a coach. Mission accomplished. Now get off his back and look at the facts!!!! I can't wait for this summer to see what other players he can get us. It's going to be great.

Bip, I agree with you, and paying 30 mm for a center who will give you maybe 5 minutes a game is good business. Isiah has been doing pretty good.

Exactly! Did we have a center making 30 mm to play 5 minutes before this season. Of course not. Now we do. Mission accomplished. People stop being so blind. We need Isiah!!!!!!!

Bip, I'm thinking Isiah would probably be interested in signing Oliver Miller to the full MLE too. That would totally make Islesfan change his name to Isiahfan11.

The raptors were in pretty good shape during the vince carter years and the cba is now the NBDL.
[Edited by - rvhoss on 04-20-2006 11:03 PM]

When the raptors drafted vince carter, Assiah had been gone already. The Old CBA is now the NBDL cause a new committee has revamped it..

Bip, i can't believe you're actually saying this!!! You must really be joking, right?? We need Isiah???? ok, he brought in a pg, center, 2 shooting guards, several forwards but did he bring in the right mix?? The right nucleus??

How are you gonna bring in a mastermind coach on defense such as Brown but provide him with pathetic defensive players on the squad??? Most of these players on the team got no heart or top notch work ethnic ... It's more about the will of a player than the talent..

Woodman you have no idea what you are talking about. During the offseason we needed a SG, SF, C and PF. Isiah got us more than one of each and yet you bash him. Unbeleivable.

Thank you DJ: Finally someone gets it. I am full faith in Isiah to get rid of some of teh PF, C, SG, PG and SF's on this team and go right out and get us some new PF, C, SG, PG and SF's. That's what so many are overlooking. Taht's what we need and that's what he is going to do. He is doing a great job! Now I know it didn't show up in wins this year. But it did show up in the amount of players that we had on our roster. Just look at the facts. At any given time we had 12 guys on our roster who could dribble and shoot and really run fast up and donw the court. And we also had Jerome James and Eddie Curry. When will people stop the hate and see the truth. Isiah knows how to go out and get us new players. He does it every year!!!!!! Get off his back.

WOW!! Assiah is doing a great job?? yeah, right!! A ballooned payroll which hit an all time high, 125mm along with the 2nd worse record in the NBA.

How long has Assiah's been gm/pres, BIP?? Each yr it gets worse under him as g.m./pres.

With all that talent in indiana, he got outcoached by Byron Scott in the 1st round against NJ and loss... there is a reason why he got canned by larry bird..

Dolan, the owner is another buffoon, cause when he needed a replacement for Laydown and listened to Mills telling him to hire Assiah..

Mills and Dolan didn't even bother looking @ his track record so They went for the name..
also ASS iah being Mills friend played a role in the hiring..

How is it when you look at the grizzlies who were a joke but once Jerry West took over, they're winning games and making the playoffs..
Why? because West is a crafty, shrewd g.m. that knows the type of risk to take in this business..

Why are you rooting for a former player that bleeds piston.. He's no former Knick!!! He's probably doing this on purpose.. Remember, Assiah always hated the knicks...

The guy we need here is KiKI Vandewanghe!!! Former knick player!! Dad also played for the knicks and he's doing a find job in Denver.. I would take him over ASS iah any day..

I think this goes to prove my point that nobody reads anyone's post. They just react.

Woodmann: You know nothing about running a basketball team. Isiah has done everything he set out to do. He wanted a team full of high paid guys with pretty nicknames and press and that is exactly what we got. How could you dispute this. We have "Franchise", "Starbury", "Jumping Jack Jalen" and "Big Game James". All these guys scored points this year. All of them had a few rebounds and they passed a lot. There was even a 6 game stretch during the 82 game season where we won 6 games in a row. This is undisputable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! During this stretch Marbury was dominant, AND ISIAH SIGNED HIM. I remember the game where Big game James came out and scored the first 8 or 10 pts of the game. Isiah signed him too!!!!!!!!! Isiah signed Jalen Rose and Steve Franchise as well.

Why are you arguing with me. Everything I've said is absolutely true. You are just in denial!!!!!!!

On a side note: I am having so much fun right now.

we're in the same page.. i feel ya ..
im having fun too.. it's better than feeling the pain that surrounds our team..

Gotta find happiness somewhere with this miserable organization.

Long live Isiah. Long live the Marbury/Brown feud!!!! The only thing I can ask for now is more quitters!! I'm confident Isiah will be able to go out and do that for me.
