jwill was drafted by the bulls the year after jamal when they weren't sold on him at the point. he played with jamal for a season and took the starting pg spot late in the year. then he got hurt and was replaced by hinrich.

i really wanted Jay last year. off course we had to add francis to this mess. If we could make room for him it would be great!

I love Jay Williams. I wish I could find that thread that I made about him last summer when I was pushing for Isiah to sign him. Oh well Good kid, good head, probably won't be anywhere near as explosive as he once was but he'll be reinvigerated to ready to play very good baskeball, both sides of the ball. He'd be a great addition for LB.

How ironic would it be if next year our PGs were Jay Williams and Jamal Crawford. Add Nate to that, or Marcus Banks (my first choice)

Yeah that would be funny as hell to see Jay Williams and Craw start for the Knicks. The Bulls were babying Jay Williams when he came into the league. Craw was outplaying him there. Jay could not understand the triangle and Carthwright was a idiot coach anyway.

It'll be a great story if he can make it back to the NBA after what he's been through, and it'll be great if he can do it with the Knicks.

Jay isn't a good distributer if I remember. He was just a great scorer in college that didn't quite make that mark as a pro. He was turnover prone and was not very good in Chicago from what I remember....I think the word bust was surrounding his name. His arms are short for a point guard and his defense also wasn't ever any good.

I'm still down to give him a try. Knicks could use a third point guard....especially since Francis, Marbs and Nate might get shipped out

That is exactly what I remembered about him...He struggled then and might be even worse now...

It's always tough coming back from life threatening injuries like that...Hurly was never the same again....But hey what do we have to lose...

Jay only played one season in the NBA. Maybe his numbers weren't great for a no.2 pick, but they weren't that bad.

He's not a traditional PG, but he can move the ball. That's what Larry wants.

i'd rather take a flyer on jay williams in the offseason, trade both Marbury & Francis, & have Nate play as the 6th man behind Craw... Q Rich can play off the bench as well in the 2/3 swing position... get Marbury THE F OUT OF GOTHAM!!!
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

As of now, jay williams is better than Marbury even with the injury.. why, cause he won't have intentions of killing a team's season..

He won;t be thinking about himself and not team and would never declare himself best point guard in the NBA..

lastly, he won't come up to the media and saying he don't care what coach says.
