Hey, can't blame the guy-- it's not like he endorsed the trades for Rose and Francis or anything.
All he did was "beg" Isiah to get Francis!

He did? We hear rumors to that effect, but all we know is he endorsed it for a show of unity.

SAS just reiterated what has been in the papers this moring. When SAS says it in his special SAS serious tones, it just sounds so intense!

This guy's must be funny just ordering chinese food. Any comics do SAS yet, they guy is a hoot!

Larry said Francis was on his short list he game to Isiah....I'm not sure what that mean but seems like he wanted Francis here...Much was made about Larry's list of players...He wasn't the first choice but he was on larry's list and so was Jalen....By the way...Isiah turned down the Vince Carter trade when toronto insisted JRose be included....So year later, he takes JRose straigh up for nothing...yeah that makes sense....

Larry told Marbs how much input he has now on trades(juice card) but you guys can't see him saying yes to any of these trades huh...You just don't want to believe it...How can your guy make such decisions, right...It must be Isiah...even when he owns up to it you don't believe him...He is just covering Isiah's tracks...amazing...

I swear I read this post without looking at who wrote it and when I was done , I said to myslef "This is a holfresh post", and it was!

Maybe Blueseats can rummage through his newspaper clippings and find all the relevant quotes Brown made about Rose and Francis leading up to and after the trades.

Wouldn't it be more accurate if you ran some sort of probability analysis on it?

I think Steph, Rose and Marbs will all be back.

what would we get in return? We are over the cap and the salaries have to match...you guys keep bringing up players that would suck under brown or are waaaaay over the hill and would suck under anybody (they suck on their current teams).

Why not go with what we got? Why not try to find a NEW system that fits the talent on the team?

I've seen trades for Kmart? He's a hard worker for coaches that let him dunk and celebrate...one benching for an alley oop celebration and Kmart is next on the list to tone out LB.

I bet crawford got a talking to for celebrating the game winning shot.

In today's nba, let the players celebrate for pete's sake.

Who else? I can't really see any other player different than JRose (subdued), Franchise (electrifying rebounding guard) or Marbs (scoring point guard).

Unless you just want to release them (continue to pay them) and bring in no names and really get blown out.

I've yet to see Princeton get to the final four, but I've seen Channing, Jrose and Marbury do it.

snap out of it brown, let hte players be players, they are 22 year's old for pete's sake.

When he started coaching most players were 4 year players, didn't play under his system until they were in their second year and were mature 25 year old's instilled with "the right way" for 2 solid year's.

There wasn't this much player movement, there wasn't this much youth, there wasn't this much immaturity. (sp?).

Snap out of it LB, save your legacy while there is still time.

We definitely don't need two Marburys!

---->Why not go with what we got?

Because we sck. The talent, personalities, skill sets, mentality don't mesh to form good team play. We are more a collection of individual stars acquired from poor teams. We lack a great deal of what makes a team good. Right now addition by subtrcration is the way I would do it. What you may value for Marbury, I dont. I would simply give him away right now for any ending contract. I suggested a strategic gutting during the year.

Being fearful of bringing in more rookies is foolish. We have to realize we ARE NOT winning the championship next year or FOR YEARS to come. Perhaps we can start to think about getting back into it after a flush and fill--in lets say 3 years. To sense to keep Marbrury around. Need to rebuild the atmosphere around the Knicks organization.

Right-- well, correction. All we know is that he endorsed the trades to some extent-- we don't know why exactly. Still, if one is going to take these SAS rumors at face value as credible, then one should take Brown's comments at face value as credible as well. In which case there's still a contradiction. Maybe Larry is a Walt Whitman fan.

here is what I know about the trades, and there is a bit of insider info sprinkled into the thought:

Isiah had cooked up 3 different trades for Penny at the deadline: with Portland, ORL and one other team who I cant remember. POR was for Miles/Theo and that's the one LB really wanted. But POR was unwilling to part with Miles (or maybe Knicks wouldn't include the right pick for them). So, ORL was the next best choice. Perhaps not only getting Franchise for next to nothing was incentive enough, and perhaps it was 2-fold good for LB to get rid of Trevor (who while a good athlete is young and the team has enough youngs, and he was low on the totem pole on the muturity level too).

That's what I have gathered. And of course LB HAS to endorse the trades. That's an organizational no brainer.

Maybe but he doesn't have to tell the media that he was "begging" the GM to make the trade. In fact, I have *never* heard of a coach giving such a strong endorsement as to admit to begging a GM to make a trade.

then you should open your eyes. NY is the biggest media market, so of course even the smallest of non-importance is quoted and headlined. Plus, do you really follow closely what other coaches are saying?

Since you have your eyes wider open than mine, explain to me which coaches were quoted as begging their GMs to make certain deals? Or here's an easier question, "Which coaches gave *any* sort of stronger public endorsement of a trade than Larry gave of Francis?
