Duncan had the same procedure done to him a few yrs back.. Amare will be find for next yr.. he's only 21 or 22 yrs of age.. young bones!!

Every microfracture is different, it depends on the amount of damage done and where the damage is. No way Duncan's operation was of the same severity as Stoudemire's, Duncan didn't miss a season of games. Also, youth is a two-sided coin in this case, Stoudemire is young to have so much damage in his knee, especially since his jumping ability is so important to his game, unlike Duncan. I do hope that Stoudemire's youth helps him bounce back. He'll probably lose a tad off those springs though.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

oohah, glad to hear the encouraging words about the transplant. the soreness go away after flying up the subway stairs?

Sort of, the day before I foolishly ran up the stairs, I had walked the most I have since the transplant. I was walking up hills, all over the place, miles I walked...I had to because I am searching for an apartment, so I was going to be pretty sore anyway.

The extra soreness from the stair-hopping went away in a couple of days. But I've been doing a lot of walking looking at apartments and meeting with clients that I haven't seen in a while, so some soreness is to be expected. It seems as I reach each new level of mobility, one area stops hurting and another area begins to hurt as it is called back into service. I leave the house with a stride, but I come back with a limp.

The nice thing is that I can feel my knee gliding because there is now cushion in there. It's a beautiful thing, and it's not something you would be able to describe until you know what it feels like to miss it. Before I would be limping and sore because my bones were grinding against each other, now I am limping and sore because of lack of strength, being cut all to hell, etc.

I'm very happy so far.

By the way...You Win! Steak is on me, but it'll probably be in the summer! That okay?

Ah the knee glide sounds great. The closest I can imagaine is I have to take anti-inflammatories and occasionally cortisone shots for joint problems, and when it 's going good I'm constantly aware of how GOOD it feels to walk without pain.

The summer will be great. Al fresco! It'll be my highest moment of KT appreciaton ever!
