Marbury for Blount, Hudson, Madsen and their 1st RD pick works for me.

Why would you get their pick. If Marbury is so bad, just take Blount, Hudson and Madsen.

Cause we would be getting garbage back. Well, maybe not Blount.

Yeah but Marbury is so bad, wouldn't they be taking garbage from you?

the problem w/that is NY is the place Marbury wants to be... he's been wanting to play here his whole career & now he's got the chance... too bad he's too stupid & arrogant to know that he's screwing it all up by conflicting w/the head coach.

I'd also point out that there is no way he takes $30-35m if he is owed $60m.

He might go for $40-45m.

What team is going to sign him for a max MLE?

Where is sprewell? Wasn't he going to sign with a contender before the deadline for the play offs and hasn't that deadline passed?

I truly doubt he would get offered more than 3 years of MLE type money.

From my point of view, he has to go. From the general feeling in Minny land, at least in the realgm forum, they want Statbury.

^ I think his Knickname should be Statbury. He'll always show up in the box score, but nowhere else.

Anyway, if the concensus over on the Minny board is that they're willing to give up the lotto pick, then the best deal for both clubs would easily be Hudson, Hassell, Griffin, Lotto Pick for Marbury, Filler, and S.A. Pick....
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Unfortunely the salary math between Marb and Minny is hard. I wouldn't give up the SA either.

they have enough bad contracts to make a deal possible, unfortunately we don't have enough roster spots to accomodate them all & still hold onto our young guys... therein lies the rub... i hope they pursue something w/ATL first & try to get Harrington in a sign & trade type deal... i think that would make more sense for us, but not sure ATL would be interested in taking on Marbs' contract.

^ If necessary, just throw in Butler or Woods.

It won't kill us, and if that's what it takes to get a deal done, so be it.

That lottery pick could end up being something special.

I don't get though why do you want Minny to give you their 1st round pick for a guy that has to go. If you kill Isiah for making these moves, then why would McHale do it. Trade Marbury but don't expect a pick for him just more garbage and be happy with it, because you get Marbury out of here. The reason for all that is bad.

no matter how much you may think he's garbage, he's still a very talented basketball player... there's no doubt in my mind that team would be better w/him playing alongside KG than those other scrubs, & there's no doubt in my mind that KG would be happier playing w/someone who could take some of the scoring pressure off him as well... the reason i don't see him being a fit here is that we don't have that other superstar player for him to play off of & Mebury is just never going to be on the same page as LB... this team is constructed of role players & young kids who need to flourish in a more team oriented style game... someone made an observation on another thread about Marbury playing better in a 2 man game... i think there's some truth to that based on the style of game i've seen him play... he works the pick & roll as well as any other PG in the game, & having KG as the guy he's running it with would accentuate that.

that said, there's no way i'd include Butler &/or Woods in that deal just to get the mid round lottery pick because we're doing plenty in allowing them to rid themselves of all those marginally talented players w/longterm deals as it is... who knows what you're going to get w/that pick... it could end up to be a complete bust, & then you'd be left w/nothing but crap contracts on your books & would have lost not only your best player, but 2 promising young kids to boot.

Marbury & SA's pick for their crap & Ricky Davis is what i'd offer... if we have to buy out some of those contracts to free up roster space to keep our young guys, i do it, but if it were up to me, i'm not making any deals w/MIN unless we're getting back a productive player like Davis in the process... MIN can re-sign Sprewell to take his spot & they can have a LOOK AT ME orgy fest to their heart's content.
