That's not the point... The point is LB's job is to get the most possible from his team and this season he has gotten the least possible.
to me its totally the point. For all their skills and style of play the "style" that resulted in them producing good stats has NEVER translated into winning games for these guys. So Larry is asking them to do things they arent used to and that makes him less of a coach? I think the things he's asking for are the things that will make these guys better players. So far they are falling flat on their face but there is some progress.
I have no doubt hiring Westphal and letting Paul and Herb coach this thing would have produced more wins. Would we even be .500? Does that accomplish anything? Personally I'm glad that these players are exposed right now, and this roster is exposed right now. Pain brings change, comfort doesnt. That true with all things in life.
This has sucked, no doubt but I dont think its a waste. I also think the young guys have gotten good playing time, but Nate, Frye and Lee. All have played more this year than in any college season, and this from a coach that doesnt play rookies.
All these players play a playground style. Like they are just out there to have fun. But winning takes a huge amount of tougness in this league and this group of players has never demonstrated they have it. Maybe they can get it in fewer minutes. Maybe they need to sit and let it sink in.
I dont have those answers. I'm hoping Larry does and after a year it either hits these guys or we go out and get some less "talented" players who would rather win then have fun and make cool plays and collect millions.
Ive been bitching about the players since Ewing was traded. I never had a big problem with Chaney, Lenny, Herb or Larry. For me its always been about the guys on the court, and the guy that put the roster together. Same old story for me. The only difference is Larry has the clout to do what he's doing and call bull**** on all these guys and their lazy ass style of play.
