You have a point, but you exaggerate I think. I guess it depends on what counts as a "defensive player." Malik Rose is a defensive player no? Expected or not, Q has been great on D for us. Nate and Lee can mix things up on D a bit. Jerome James has been a quality shot blocker in the past if nothing else.
As for players no longer with us-- Ariza had his moments when he was here. Antonio Davis and JYD were defensive players. Matt Barnes had a chippy defensive presence before he fell out of LB's favor.
Don't get me wrong, we definitely need the D to improve. But it is overstating the case to say we have no defensive players.
