what are u talking about? KG's shown loyalty to the owner of the TWolves & they share a great relationship, & it's the OWNER of the franchise that will make the decision on whether or not to trade KG, not Kevin McHale... if KG asks to be traded, i'm sure he'll have a select few teams that he'll name, & my guess is the Knicks will probably be 1 of them... the Lakers likely being the other.
A select few is another story. But I don't think Francis helps us to beat out those other select few. Not when he's owed $48 mil. I'd rather keep an unhappy Garnett for $60 mil than have Francis for $48 mil. I'd actually rather have Rose's expiring contract as part of a package that included picks and young players than have that same package with Francis instead of Rose if I were rebuilding the Wolves.

but minny would most likely want to unload all longterm contracts(hassel, hudson, jaric, blount). a deal of francis-moT-jalen+draft picks+young player could do that. i dont know how thrilled i'd be to make that kind of deal. we would be giving up a lot of assets for 1 guy and a ton of bad contracts.
We'd be giving them a huge, long bad contract in Francis. If they want financial savings to help rebuilding, they'd prefer Jalen over Francis.

If you're subscribing to the Francis is an asset theory, Francis could be dealt to a third team that could send youth/picks to Minny.

I want to say that Terry might not resign in Dallas- what if they fall short and see a revitalized Francis as a possible complement to Dirk. I have no idea what they could send in a 3 way scenario- just there might be a third team willing to take a low cost risk/bet on francis.

how do you know what they'd prefer? are you the owner of the TWolves? if you're the owner, do you honestly tell the fans of your franchise that you just traded away the icon player for Jalen Rose's expiring contract & some unproven talent? & from a Knicks standpoint, even if it takes a package of Francis or Marbury along w/Frye & whatever else to get KG, you do it, end of story... you don't come across players like him everyday... i have no doubt in my mind a team of KG along w/either Francis or Marbs, Q Rich or Craw, & Curry can succeed in the East.
