Its not- its one thing to trade Crawford away and its another to trade away an ending deal (penny) and get a good, possibly over paid player.

But, Lee & Frye and Nate should really be held unto- they're young, cheap and getting better.

Crawford, while young and still having potential, isn't cheap.

I doubt Battie is part of this deal. Battie was only needed to balance out the salaries when the deal was Penny. Orlando doesn't want to lose Battie.

I could live with no Battie, although I would prefer to get him. We can get a role player like him elsewhere.

I second that Martin. I know some people are not going to like Francis or KMart but I think it's a great job by Isiah using his assets to get a few guys who fill GAPING holes on this team. A lineup of:
Marbury/Francis/Rose/Martin/Curry

and a bench of: Woods/Frye/Nate/Lee (Penny/Ariza/#1 pick to Denver)

I think thats a pretty damn good team and the 2nd half of this year would be used as a training camp for next year to get these guys used to playing with each other. Obviously there is a threat of injury with KMart but I think the idea that Isiah is using for this is pretty good. We shall wait and see.

How do we get Francis and Kmart without giving up Lee, Nate, or Frye to either Orlando or Denver?

If we are doing Crawford, Taylor, and Ariza to Orlando, then how do you suggest we do Penny, Ariza, and a #1 to Denver?

I don't know. I think the Magic will hold out for Penny, but Zeke is probably trying to hold Penny back for either Ratliff or Kmart.

My guess is Zeke leaked this report to pressure the Magic... or the Magic leaked it to try to get better offers... who knows at this point?

yeah, I think both ORL and DEN are hoping to have Lee included in their respective deals. let's all hope that Isiah holds out Lee from both.

Since each deal is not really a talent for talent swap (more of a potential talent for cap space thing), look for the deals to go down either at the same time or very close to the deadline (or both).
