"Just to be clear".. paragraphs would work real well here.

I agree. Paragraphs are a kindness to potential readers. When I see big blocks of text like that, I tend not to read the post.

Good for you. Don't read it.

I didn't.

Then again Finestrg, I think you were on to something when you suggested staying the course with the 25 and under crew.

Ok guy. Give us your plan then. What would you like to see the Knicks do? Get Francis, Darius Miles or Ratliff? Let's here it. I'm curious. What should we do Earl? Go out and get Kenyon Martin only to watch in horror as his knee gives out a week later. Or get Earl Watson and bury Nate Robinson in the process. At least I have a vision. Play GM for a minute and give us your take on it. What would you like to see happen?

Besides, Lee and Frye are est friends.

I especially like this one. So what does that mean? We can't trade Frye because he's friends with Lee? Huh?

Btw, excellent followup as always Marv. I disagree a little with you on Frye's future impact on the team, but you stated you business like a man without being hostile. You, sir, have my respect. I knew sooner or later the more knowledgable Knick fans around here would surface.

Sheldon Willians has yet to play a single pro game

Hell, he hasn't even played a Summer League game

LOL! He's a senior for probably the best collegiate program in America! Where do you think he's been playing in a beer league somewhere. Man... Sorry I just couldn't resist.

OK so what Marv isn't a Knick fan? Fine my bad. He is a bigtime hoops fan and conducts himself like a man not like a little kid. Read between the lines...

>>(Frye) plays with no killer instinct at all, doesn't rebound or box out well, has trouble creating his own shot off the dribble ...

hold UP

How many 6'11 forwards, other than KG, create their own shot off the dribble?
[/quote]

We both know exactly what I'm talking about man, come on. If you disagree use my whole quote next time ok? I'm really talking about talking guys off the dribble and talking guys to the hole. Jeeez, even the worst power forwards in the league attempt to do that. With the way this kid shoots FTs, you guys really want him, your PF, shooting 25 footers? It's a bonus that he can shoot it that pure from deep, sure, but I don't want him doing that exclusively. Take it strong, get guys in foul trouble like everyone does to us, get to the line for an easy two... You don't think they've been telling him that add nausem? I'm not saying he doesn't listen or isn't a good guy - he just appears to be a power forward who doesn't look comfortable take the ball to the tin on a consistent basis. Hence my comments.

Finestrng, I think it's a complement people keep asking you to space your text. It shows people want to read it. They wouldnt complain if they didnt care.

Now, to business. While it's true that we could "possibly" get great talent in the upcoming draft, it's just as possible that people like Carney will not pan out. Right now, we have Channing, and we KNOW he can be a big time player. Yes , he has all the definciencies you state, a lack of solid D, no boxing out etc. But think of it this way. Even if Frye doesn't work on those aspects of his game, he's still going to be a serious player in the league. Maybe not all-star status, but real good. And if he does develop the missing ingredients to his game (and we have no reason to think he wont based in his intelligence and work ethic), he could be a true superstar a la Rasheed or (heaven forbid I say it) Dirk.

Deciding to ditch plan '05 and start again with plan '06 in my opinion will turn into a vicious circle, and we will be the Hawks forever.

I say, be happy with what was a real solid draft for us, keep Lee and Channing together, hope Nate dorms with Earl Boykins over the summer, and try to add to it this year. But starting over IMO would be a mistake.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

Well put Firefly. I can go along with that. I really want to see Curry and Frye starting up front together (no more Maurice Taylor and Malik Rose please Larry!) the rest of the way, with Lee getting primary big man back up minutes. At the end of the season maybe we can all revisit this topic.
