Not pollying, but why wouldnt i want steve francis over ratliff or earl watson?
But WHY are you presenting it as if there were only those two options. We've heard reports of many teams being interested in Penny's expiring contract and it's hard to imagine many teams not being interested in it.

If my boss gave me instruction WIN NOW at ANY COST, the first move I wouldve made was Frye for Artest--Artest is the one player who was on the block--who BY HIMSELF can change the face of a team W-L wise.
Different topic. My question was very simple: WHY are you falsely presenting it like the only available options were Francis or Watson/Ratliff? I've seen you do this tons of times and I simply cannot understand it.

The burden of proof is on the person who makes the claim.

ex: "Invisible unicorns exist all around us." The person who makes that claim has to support it. You can't say "why is it false? can you prove that its false?"

Artest is a bigger risk in NY than Martin. After this Francis trade and knowing we will never rebuild in NY I would give up Frye for Martin in order to win now while Brown is still here and Marbury/Francis are still young.

giving up frye for martin would be a huge mistake. only thing i'd offer, assuming the francis deal goes through is something like moT+battie+nate, maybe add SA 1st. but thats it.

Artest was the ONLy NBA impact player available. Channing frye better turn out to be one heckuva ballplayer to get to Ron Artests level. Now I wouldnt do this deal, but if they DO start starphucking here, then they made a mistake, because Ron Artest is the only guy that makes an impact on the w's

There were very serious reasons to be concerned about Artest. Of all teams we had the most to be concerned about because the kid is from NY. Isiah coached him so if he felt like Ron wasn't a good idea, he probably made the right move. We can't assume that because he works out in sac-town he would have worked out in NY. IT was a much higher risk for us than any other team.

The beat reporters keep stressing how valuable Penny's expiring contract. If that's true, shouldn't AD's expiring contract have been worth more than a 33 year old Jalen Rose and a mid first round pick?

You don't think a first round pick is valuable?

I agree. That deal was the bare minimum I wanted Isiah to get out of AD. If we can get a player like Francis with Penny's expiring contract, then we certainly should have gotten more for AD's.

We would also be sending Crawford and a young player in the deal. C'mon people, think it through a little bit.
