I think Battie for Watson would seem more likely.

You can turn around a player you just acquired within 48 hrs, but not as part of a package deal.

In essence, though, the Knicks could do 2 seperate trades with Denver. For example:

Battie for Watson

MoT + Q1 + Lee for Kmart + Lenard

Steve Francis
$13,770,000

$15,070,000

$16,440,000

$17,180,000

expiring at the end of the 08/09 season

Franchise's contract is the exact same length as Jamal's.

No, it's two years less.

I still say Isiah is intent on turning Francis into Kmart and Watson. How long is our window to trade Francis again? 48 hours?

I believe so. I think we're more likely to see Battie packaged with a Taylor or Rose and rerouted though.

for Kmart perhaps?

Salary cap hell in perpetuity.

but the only way to make this work. its all or nothing

yea...battie and watson is more likely...denver would love depth at the PF/C position since nene is out

with a backcourt of marbury/francis we're going to need Battie a heck of a lot more Watson.

But we do need a backup PG so maybe Nate is included in the package to Denver for Kmart/Watson HOPEFULLY!

You do realize the only way we're getting Kmart is with Francis, right?

depends on what the rest of the league thinks of Martin's knees and on top of that Kmart has a longer contract. I don't think anyone is desperately trying to acquire an overpaid, on the cupse of knee surgery player but we have no choice but to take the risk.

no chance??? why not build around the young front court we have and not doom ourselves with a huge max contract that runs 6 more years?

that is quite the steal. too bad it's fools good

unless you think the Knicks can get someone like KG for Penny's expiring contract, Craw & Ariza, or that any of those 3 guys are key components to the Knicks' future otherwise, i don't see how you can expect to get any better than Steve Francis.

I wouldn't trade Franchise for Kmart. Not only is his deal longer, but his knee problems are a red flag. Plus, we need a 2g, we don't necesarily need Kmart. Although we need a shotblocker, paying over 60 million for 6-7 more yrs for shotblocking isn't a good idea. We can get shotblocking by using the LLE (stevne Hunter or someone like that.
