ya i think you keep nate.

has alot of childs/LJ in him.

i think you build on that.

youngings i'd throw away if rite deal came along are ariza and butler.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

NAte's a sparkplug!!!

He's so athletic and plays with heart and passion. There are not too many players on the Knicks with those intangibles..

look- this team is never going to be a championship caliber team until we add a superstar talent- and most likely that isn't going to happen until at least 2008 when we have our first round pick again (don't we owe that to Phoenix?)

So, its at least two more years before we have something resembling a championship roster- I'm not talking about a 1st round exit with the 8 seed- who do you trade Nate for that is either going to put us over the top before then or who is young enough to be hitting their peak in 3+ years?

After watching Little NATE last night, I would not trade this kid. HE has enough heart for this whole team. Coach needs to let him be NATE.

Th kid missed 14 times! And stil was determined to get it done. He is the toughest player on the team and the team needs his spunk.

If you get an All-star that is young, OK, but that is it.

>>Rich - Isiah has gotten fleeced in virtually every trade he has made.

No doubt Rich - Milos Vujanic, Tim Thomas, Clarence Weatherspoon, Maciej Lampe, Howard Eisley and Charlie Ward are tearing up the league to the degree I wish we had them all back.

Nate's got Heart.. He's a nut but he's got heart. Our team morale can't be too good right now with the trade rumors & all the losing but nate isn't the type to quit. He showed that the other night in the dunk contest. The odds were against him after 14 tries & its not like he was attempting some easy dunk either but he didn't quit. When we're losing, we dont need quitters, we need competitors and Nate is a Competitior. He doesn't take any crap and is a tough little dude. He just grows on you. And he says the right things to the media too. I would love it if he were the guy to pump NY on his jersey after every big shot...brings back good memories.

And did anyone else notice the Nate robb commercial after the dunk contest was over? The same old one except they added all his season highlights. I think that was the first time I've seen that on any channel besides MSG.

Nate didn't show heart. Nate showed a true lust for the spotlight. Did you see him dance in the camera for 5 minutes after he completed his first dunk? That was the same Nate who flexed after dunking down 30. I like his 'Little Engine that Could' attitude but he seems shameless. A humbling experience like being traded may help re-shape his approach. It was the same sitution with Gooden and why West traded him. You can't build winners around people who put their celebrity before the team, especially a losing team.

Ummm....AI RAN OUT OF THE DAMN BUILDING
What do you call that? Thats a lot more arrogant than anything Nate did.
When nate does it he looks like a kid bouncing around cuz he's happy. Go watch the press conference after the contest because he was nothing but humble in everything he said. More over he put on a show and got the crowd on their feet. That was the point of the whole thing wasn't it? A dunk contest is based on showing off. If ever there was a time or place to show off ... that was it.

That sounds like conduct very detrimental to team desn't it.

And about the dunk whe we were down 30 to the Lakers. Displays like that have potential to swing the momentum to one's favor and maybe spark a good run to get one back into a game. Its not right to stare down a team if you're winning or losing but making a play like that can change the pace of a game.

I knew you would say that. AI had just finished a Houdini level dunk. That was a moment of clarity response. Nate's first dunk was rather ordinary.

actually it sounds like somebody who is clueless. "We lose together" wtf is that So not just 1 or 2 guys are losers we all are...solidarity it is not...thats shameless & in the national spotlight that was the best he could come up with? Isiahs media classes for the team - yet another source of wasted money and manpower. Trade Nate and Fire Thomas.

let's put things into perspective a little bit. this kid is 21 years old. is in his first year in the nba doing what he loves to do. his personality is that of an extrovert, excitable, and enthusiastic. and it's those traits that probably helped him make the nba in the first place b/c of his height.

so he's on a national stage, with the spotlight on him, and he's soaking it up and playing it for all it's worth.

he's a kid for pete's sake.

how is this different than kmart standing and flexing after a dunk during the course of a game? how is this different than ben wallace flexing his arms after a rebound put back?

let him have his fun. looking back on his career, this may be his highlight.

was the flexing on a dunk during a 30 point blowout a smart thing to do? nope. but guess what, he heard about it big time from lb. now let's see if he does it again.

You can spin it any way you like but he wasn't pointing fingers and thats what team solidarity begins with. And with 15 wins...what would you have said that was so much better? WE ARE LOSERS at this point and not one person can deny that.

And if u think actions speak louder than words...who was the one person to step to Duhon after he shoved MoT. I don't care who pushed who first but what Nate showed was that is u dont mess with anyone on his team. Not one other player showed that kind of altrusim escept maybe AD but he's not here anymore. He's foolish at times yes. But hes got heart. We need more heart on this team to get through all this turmoil.
