The real problem for this team -- which I do think has a future -- is pride. They need to watch films of Ewing, Oakley, Mason and LJ. How many times would you see Cassel dance after a 3 with those guys on the court (or even in Detriot with Ben Wallace on the floor). Or how many times would RJ go in for an unchallenged dunk. Instead they would be taking trips to the foul line with a few nicks and bruises. When the current Knicks get that kind of attitude, they will improve quickly.

pride is definitely part of it, but which vets are stepping up showing the kids how to play and how to act? That's part of the problem too. Most of the guys don't care for Marbury, JRose is new, MRose can't shoot or doesn't play so his influence is curbed, same with JJ. Craw and Q suck so they can't lead by example. It's tough out there.

For all LBs worth he is a hall a fame coach that teaches talanted players how to play smart basketball at the level they need to be.

the rotation is the main reaseon we are in this calamity. With the addition of Curry looking totally loss for more then 80% of the games he's played, and he's so far out of shape along with his brother JJ, plus a new system.

Q is also a loss wounded puppy and seems like TT 2nd coming, plus has been slowed by injury and baffleness.

Nate still thinks he's in college.

Frye loses confidence becuase of the rotation, and the respect opponents now show him

M.Rose, ( come on) be for real.. whats is he doing on the court in crunch time or ever for the matter.

Penny..Are u serious (working out in houston like it's JULY)

Ariza. How did he not spend the summer shooting 1000 to 2000 jumpers a day, this guy is offensive nightmare for his position.

Steph really wants to win and has played well for most of the season, but with out no perimeter sharp shooter, and limited (very limited) time at the 2g plus injury, and a new coach who wants pg play out of him, it's pretty obvious.

Mo and LEE need to be a consitant part of the rotation, play today and DNP CD the next day is horrible for any player ( one of the dumbest rules the NBA has made with the active today off tommorow).

And LB, JVG and Pat riley Need to wake up and stop living in the past, and even some of u. The physical play has gone out the window. Hard fouls, and impeeding progress gets you in serious foul trouble, flagrants, technicals, and your best player seating on the bench.

Its not about who can shoot, or even playing time. Its attitude that has to be instilled by the coaches and enforced through playing time. Every basket by the other team should be taken as an insult. If Eddy decides not to step in front of RJ when he goes for the dunk (as happened last night)he comes out for a while.

How can this be an option when u don't have adequate back up, you still suffer either way.

The backup isn't the issue. Its about letting a player know immediately that their effort was unacceptable. I actually thought JJ looked good last night. He altered shots and rebounded and then didn't get back in the game.

that WAS weird about JJ. I thought he played OK too, but I wasn't really paying attention to him specifically.

“I'm not surprised. Do you think Larry Brown forgot how to coach between the championship and now? It's young players, new pieces, a new system, and I never felt he'd get it done this year. He'll make adjustments, get it started, but the fans won't understand. They're not gonna see the subtle changes, the sophistication. All the fans understand is wins and losses.”

I agree, but who has time, rookies get coach's fired and Vets get Gm's fired.

When Gms trade for wash up vets or underachieving vets They get fired.
When coach's chose to play rookies to much or too little and the results are L's instead of W's they get fired.
