We have gotton worse. We see no signs of progress, and we are still doing the same crap. What is there to be optimistic about. BTW, I wont mention the name of the poster who said this (Cough cough, Bonn, cough cough) but anyone who says "WOW, we can be a .450 team the rest of the way with Rose!!!!!!" needs to get a nice gut check. .450 sucks. It's getting a D- when you're expected to get an A.

Come on allanfan. That's simply not fair. You KNOW I was not saying .450 was the goal or anything to be excited about but rather wanted the team to take baby steps in the right direction.

As for optimism, some people might think having good veterans like Marbury and Rose and FIVE 1st rd picks in a 2 season span is something to be optimistic about. Others might predict that Marbury and Rose will be ineffective and all five picks will be busts.

5 first round picks - only one was a top 10 pick, the rest were/are at the bottom of the first round. how ****ing exciting! i'd rather we get a shot at drafting a real superstar talent like Oden.

Who cares where they're picked. I care about how *good* they are. Frye is a top 3 and Nate a top 12 rookie in EVERY ranking system I've seen.

If we were taking baby steps, we would have continued to throw Jamal into war and force him to play defense along with Nate. Having Jalen this year doesn't do crap. The pick is GOOD. And I like Jalen, a lot. But if we were gonna go for him, we should have gotton him A LOT earlier, but we are now in such a hole, it's impossible to get out of, even if we had Kevin Garnett or Kobe or Shaq or Duncan or LeBron. Jalen will bring maybe 5 extra wins. WOW! Going after Jalen isn't doing crap for us. He'll be a year older next year, and he'll only bring more controversy as guys try to fight for minutes and we still have the rest of the veterans, and STILL wont be able to establish a set rotation.

It's more of the same crap Isiah is doing.

Some people recognize they are in an abusive relationship and get out. Others stay with the same person thinking the days of getting crapped on are over and it wont happen again.

Assuming you're one that would get out why do you come to Ultimate just as much as the ones you feel would STAY in the relationship? Wouldn't 'getting out' consist of cutting off contact from that relationship? lol Nice analogy by the way.

I don't think getting out of the relationship means leaving Ultimate. I think it means dumping Isiah.

Bonn is inarguably right in one sense: people are way overreacting to mere rumors. We don't know how much substance these rumors have, if any at all. Personally, I don't want us to try to get either Francis or KMart (especially not KMart) but there's no point in getting upset unless it actually happens.

We're getting upset b/c Isiah is POSSIBLY thinking of it, which means he hasn't learned from any of his or the franchises mistakes. Players with lingering knee problems = bad news. Most of us, here on UK learned about this, from McDyess, and Houston. Isiah hasn't.

You don't know what Isiah is possibly thinking. Get over yourself.

Get over myself? LOL! First off, but it very well could be that Isiah is going after K Mart. We don't know this for sure, but lately, if the media is consistent in what players Isiah has gone after, for a decent period of time, then he ends up getting them. Examples are Crawford, Curry and Rose. If this is just a one timer, then yes, it's just a rumor, but if it's being reported over and over again, then you can bet your tail off Isiah is trying to go after him, and if he doesn't get him by the deadline, he'll go after him by the Summer. He did it with Crawford, he did it with Curry and he was quite persistent, for some reason, with Rose.

Yes, for the most part, the media sucks, but I have every right to get worried that there might be a million articles on Isiah going after K Mart, a guy with lingering knee problems, post mircrofracture knee surgery.

I wouldn't have said "get over yourself" but I don't understand how you can think we have any idea about who Isiah is targetting. You can list a few players the media got right but there are many more they got wrong (to name a few, KG, Eric Snow, Drew Gooden, Darius Miles every year, Ruben Patterson every year).

Not for anything but 3 guys you named out of that list Zeke HAS chased for years....Miles, Patterson, and Snow....Gooden he basically had for KT when the Cleveland GM backed out when Silas wanted KT bad....and he has Miles and Patterson in the bag supposedly if he adds a younger player to this trade.

Everyone wants KG and Snow and Ratliff are LB off shoots....

Each and every one of those guys you mentioned Zeke has definately chased...Other than Taylor, Rose, and Steph who the media knew nothing about because Zeke wasn't here long enough, just about EVERY guy that the media says Zeke chased is credible.

You know what I'm wondering: if Marbury has come up in the Kmart discussions. Marbury's contract runs two years shorter than Kmart's.

Kmart + Watson for Marbury and Denver's pick back?

Larry hasn't exactly stood up for Marbury lately and with the rumors that he's fighting with a new group of guys, maybe Zeke is ready to let Marbs go... I don't know, I doubt it with Marbury's jersey still the 4th highest selling jersey in the league and the face of the franchise but you have to wonder if Zeke is prepared to go down standing next to Marbury.

There was another article that surfaced saying that Zeke was talking to Orlando about a trade that would send Craw to Orlando.

I STILL stand by my belief this is gonna be a multi team deal and alot of sources are getting their lines crossed....
(principles only)
Den gets Francis
Orlando gets Craw (and Q1)
NY gets Martin and Watson all works under the cap...

I don't doubt this may happen, but why would Orlando make this trade?

Craw & Q-rich have long term deals. If there gonna trade Francis (whose the best player in this propsed four team deal) I would assume they can either get much better players or thier dumping Francis for salary relief. Craw & Qrich don't help in either way. Besides, Hill has that team playing slow-ball. You think Q-rich doesn;t fit with the Knicks. Wait till you seem him in Orlando.

By the way, all they have left to show for T-mac is Craw & Qrich. Citys lose Franchises over stuff like that let alone jobs.

Actually, Francis is the only proven player in this deal. Orlando KNOWS they shot Steve's value. Craw gives them someone to play next to Nelson and Q is a backup to Hedo who may benefit from the not so bright lights of Orlando. Steve's numbers aren't even that great anymore and even though he may be a better player (which I am not arguing) explain why his numbers are marginally better than Crawford's in Orlando...

Also, Craw is 25, and Q is 26....Francis is 30....also I wouldn't be surprised if Denver throws in Nene to expand the deal if Orlando throws in some of their lesser players and NY includes Ariza....

Based on te reported deal, I don't know why Denver would do it with Miller alredy at the point and his backup being Boykins at 5-6, and Francis is 6-1....that is a very small back court...To me, a Crawford to Denver deal makes infinately more sense.

I'd rather go after Kmart than Francis, personally. As long as our docs okay Kmarts knee.

It's been well documented that LB would love to have Snow back in his hands. And it's well known that Isiah loves young, athletic, low IQ bball players. That has Darius Miles written all over it. I see no reason to believe Isiah has at least tried to go after him. It's been said, and I believe confirmed, that Isiah almost traded KT for Drew, which could have been OK.

Like I said, if it's a one night stand type of report, it's prolly a rumor or some BS, or something they got from here (I'm convinced they got that Dalembert for Marbury deal from my post). If it's ongoing though, there's probably a lot of evidence that Isiah might really be doing it.

I'm sure the first Isola heard of Kmart to the Knicks was from this board. Let's not forget, all sorts of ridiculous rumors will fly in the next two weeks. I'm sure if the Twolves lose 2 in a row everyone will be convinced KG is on the way.

First off, Francis is 28 (will be 29 in a couple of weeks.)

Second- Joe, I know you're just trying to make a point, but please, Craw isn't in Francis' league as a player. I don't need numbers to justify that. But if you must, Francis is a career 20-6-6. Not many backcourt players in the history of this league have numbers to match that.

We all know Francis isn't happy with his situation thats why the numbers are down, but when he wants to turn it on (last 5 gms he's averaging nearly 26 pts per)

As far as Denver is concerned, I don't see them giving up Kmart, Watson and Nene for Francis. Thats too much. Francis is actually 6'3 (just an inch shorter than Wade) and he's strong. He can play the 2, especially in a George Karl offense.

I'd rather tak the Portland deal if Miles in included than take a risk on Kmart.
