What do you guys mean Ratliff has nothing left, he plays 23 minutes and averages over 5 boards and 1.5 blocks. He would be a good backup if we could move JJ.

is that worth 66mm for 3 years? 6mm for 3 not 66.

I don't know, a veteran guy who is a top 15 shotblocker, we're not getting under the cap anyway.

Everyone's throwing around numbers and money but what about intangibles? Maybe Larry's looking at shot-blocking, rebounding along with the intangibles. Maybe he feels Ratliff has something that will be needed to carry out some of the coaching things he hasn't been able to get other guys to commit to.

I'm not a big fan of Ratliff's but I'm just throwing that out there because I haven't heard anyone mention it yet.

Please, god, DO NOT TAKE ON RATLIFF!!! He's awful!

There has to be some other option for interior D out there. Oakley probably has more game left than Ratliff.

And there's no way I'm giving up Lee.

Larry Brown wants what he dont have. He talks good about Larry Hughes and he ran him off by the all star break. Have three rookies and Brown as a coach isnt a great mixture

Larry no longer has the patience to rebuild a team, so he is willing to just get good enough to make the playoffs.

But I now think Larry is calling the shots, not Isiah.

They better not ****ing trade Lee.

We are giving up one and potentially two top three picks to the Bulls (because Isiah was too lame to get lottery protection) as a result of his unwillingness to give up Lee in the Curry trade. Now we're going to trade Lee in a package for Ratliff?

^We are rebuilding through the draft and trades, not by trying to get under the cap and hoping for a free agent to be available that would be able to carry our franchise. Bringing in veterans does not mean you are not committed to rebuilding, they help the young players in innumerable ways.

Good Christ, it says the BLAZERS WANT Lee, not that we are willing to trade him, or Zeke is shopping him, or ANYTHING along those lines.....I think most of you guys really gotta switch to decaf. and take a look at what is actually being reported.

How are the Knicks going to get the impact player that most NBA championship teams have that the Knicks are going to get with a middle to late round pick or through a trade?

I highly doubt the Knicks will include Lee in any package. I hope the Knicks take a good long look at some tape of Theo Ratliff and realize that he sucks.

Curry and Frye have a chance to be impact players. Dirk's first year, he averaged 9ppg in about the minutes Frye is getting. Rookies and young players do improve over time. I swear.

^You can trade for an impact player. Teams who have impact players with huge contracts have been known to trade them in order to cut expenses--luckily the Knicks are a team that can absorb those kinds of contracts. We do have assets in order to sweeten any deal.

Rich - which is it?

If you think Laryy is calling the shots, then is he the one responsible if Lee gets traded?

OR, do all good deals fall in the Larry column and all bad deals fall in the Isiah Tholmas column?

If Al Harrington is an impact player then we already have a couple impact players on our team--Marbury and Jalen, and potentially Frye and Curry.

Agreed. And despite the fact that everyone seems to think he's useless, I submit that Marbury is an impact player. He may not be a superstar, but he's definitely a top 25 talent in this league.

I think Zeke covets Al Harrington either way. I don't love the guy, really. I remember when he was on Indiana he would make a lot of bone-headed mistakes.
