if u cant dump craw after 24-5-4 9/15, then when can u dump him?

It almost makes you want to keep the guy...but I have personally seen enough of him, we don't need him.

maybe the deal is dead because crawford's value went up. I don't really like the deal because we need someone with more size to play the 2 for now. I think watson is a good fit but i've liked the way marbury has played the point lately and i think he's better there than at the 2-guard.

if you stand back and look at this, it was DEFINITELY orlando that backed out.

the Knicks dont back out of deals, and for whatever good games jamal has had in his life, they are followed with a series of bad one's and weak-hearted play--we can all agree there--his whole career!

do you think denver wa backing out of steve francis for a player that was injured earl watson and byron rusell? NO--It HAD to be Orlando, and usually on a deal like this it almost certainly had to do with either the compnesation nene's agent was seeking OR his health.

If this report is accurate, Larry wants Q out of town at all costs.

This deal would save the Knicks $34 mil.

Coincidence?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

lenard+watson for ariza+crawford...get it done!

I want Nene and they obviously want to get rid of him. Would you include David Lee to get Nene? Nene has much more upside and can play the 4 and 5 solidly. I like Lee a lot but he doesn't fit any position very well.

actually i want no part of nene.. i'm skeptical about taking back injured players(especially ACL injuries). i know its possible that he could come back healthy, but its a risk that i dont want to take.

Personally, I would hold onto Craw, he showed how valuable he can be when he isn't playing out of position. Craw isn't a PG, he's an undersized SG. I don't know if I like giving up on Craw while Marbs is out.

I'd rather get rid of Q than Craw.

shoot! i'd have liked that deal...

we remove craw for watson and ending contract..

I would have liked it too.....Craw is not a rookie. He plays like one though. I've seen enough of Craw for a lifetime. Jalen is here and in game one of his Knick career he took Craws spot. What Jalen did Craw needs to study. If the guy is gonna get better and turn the corner he is about 2 years away. The Knicks don't have time for that ****.

Get guys here that can play this game. As of right now......I feel the Knicks need Watson, and K-Mart....or at least players that are very similiar to them. Both guys are still young but they are tough gritty smart players that don't need training camp to come in and play well. They are guys Larry would trust I am sure of it and then we can get back to talking basketball and not the drama......

I'm excited man.....Go get em Isiah!

ACL surgery is very successful. Players usually come back with no noticeable difference in their games.

Do you mean to say that you think the knicks are somehow going to be a championship caliber team in the next two years?

Crawford is the perfect X factor off a teams bench- if he's hot, you ride him. If he's not, he goes back to the bench.

The problem with Crawford's play isn't Crawford- its that we have so little else besides him to put on the floor. Turning him into Earl Watson isn't going to turn this team around. This season is lost. Put Nate out there and try to turn him into a PG. Let him make 30 turnovers in a game if you need to- he will either learn from his mistakes or we'll realize he's not a potential pg.

I dunno, but I think if you want an earl watson type, they'll be there in the draft around where we'll be picking.

This would have been an awful deal. We trade away a promising 2 year player (I didn't say he's a star on the rise) and Crawford, who I still say is solid to have, for a PG who isn't that good and an expiring contract? What sense does it make? Give up freaking Malik or Mo T. I am not giving up all the good stuff for just Earl Watson and I don't care about that expiring contract. All the contracts are coming off the books next year anyway. If you want to trade Crawford, but a draft pick. BAAAAAAAD TRADE!

We would be getting raped on that deal. Unless we are getting another 1st rounder, this is a bad deal for us. Glad it fell apart as well.

the only way i woulda done that deal is if the Knicks were getting ORL's 1st round pick... otherwise, the Knicks get hosed.

Bro for that deal, I would want Orlando's unprotected first pick and another pick in the future (or include Nene and a pick coming to us)...ain't no way I make that trade.

Agreed. I understand that a lot of people don't want Crawford and would give up anything for him, just to clear up his contract. OK fine. But you're hardly doing that. You're getting a decent backup PG and freaky Bryan Russel who is 80, and you're giving up Ariza on top of that. There has to be something else in the deal, coming our way.

i think liz robbins is assuming it's crawford ("could have").

i think the player in question is q1. but i'm not sure who or how many teams are involved but it's safe to assume that some discussions are being held between us and other teams involved steve francis.

Earl Watson's contract isn't exactly friendly either. He still has about 4 more years at 24 mil after this year. Money is saved over Crawford, but not untill a few years down the road. Are we even thinking that far?

I'm opposed to any trade where we significantly downgrade talent for a "fit," especially when we havent yet firmly established any kind of identity or philosophy here.
