my point is its important not to overvalue these guys. I love Frye. Everyone likes a homegrown guy. But when the team is in the state its in yo have to step back from how much you like a guy or want a guy to suceed and just gage his value.

Marv he could very well be the next Sam Perkins. The league adjusts quickly. He's got a great jumper and he works hard. The last part being the most important imo.

Now teams will make him put the ball on the floor because he's not getting that shot anymore. We will see. I dont see the athleticsm that Sheed has or the handle.

I hear you. He looks lost as he tries to adjust to developing a more complete game. But there are basic skills there that are so rare for a 6'11" guy that I'd put him on the untouchable list until I saw just how far he could be developed.

I wouldn't put him on the untouchable list but I wouldn't trade him for the tenth best SG or tenth best SF in the league either when you get a solid player at that position (albeit probably not as good as JJ) for the MLE or in the middle of the 1st rd of a draft. If I were going to trade Frye for a 2 or 3, it would have to be a clear all-star.

Fish- I agree with you in that we've got a bunch of average players and we need real stars-

unfortunately, we're not likely to have our pick next season- I don't think we should trade frye- he's certainly not duncan, but if he can start and give us 18 & 8 from the four & be consistent (and he looks consistent in spite of LB's rotations) then we're set up front assuming Curry can ever get into shape.

Then, in 2 years as all this starts to come together, add another top talen in 3 years when we're in the lotto again, and viola, you might have a championship caliber team.

But, adding Joe Johnson to this squad does not put us over the top- we're three to five years away- I think we should make moves based on that schedule
