Nalod mentioned a good point about the nets/pistons game, they competed like pros.Kidd is a competitor, loves to win, hates to lose. After the Hawk game the other night, craw and curry came over to the crowd to shake some hands, I spoke to both of them, now I wasn't expecting them to come over and be rude to the fans because they lost, but i could look in their faces and it seemed as if this was just another loss, like they were ready to chalk this season up as a loss... I am not down on either guy, but I wonder if the losing and apathy has effected the team to a point beyond repair this year.. even with the great LB on the sidelines....
I hate to say, I have even more respect for Marbury now. He's playing hard every minute. He's playing hurt. He's no playing selfish or trying to pad his numbers.

Its almost like LB took him into his office, said "Steph, play hard.. in a year I promise we will both have some guys that worth playing with."

Chad and a host of writers whom have beaten our team down should get some props for calling out this mess.

Simmons needs to write a movie about Isiah calling him out and his threat!

<ahem> What about me? Don't I get some props?

You want me to give you the same props I give Chad????

You want me to change my Insider password?

Very persuasive argument. Truce

that's the crap i am talking about. they should be embarassed. plain and simple. i am suprised that not one of the fans asked when they came over to shake hands , "aren't you ashamed after getting your butts handed to you by the lowly hawks? and you call yourself professional athletes?" the blame is sorely on the players. i still can not get mad at zeke. at least he is trying. when he came in we needed a point guard, true center and infusion of youth. he took care of all of those needs including supposedly getting a replacement for houston when he retires with crawford. this is just not panning out and unfortunately we have the league highest payroll. nevertheless, this team is talented on paper but the players are just walking around playing the game ho hum. as fans our team has been a laughingstock of espn for five years and with this team we might expect more doldrum gutter type performances.

I am down with this way of thinking. And I also see why people have been complaining about the moves Isiah has made.

Players do have to play, but it seems strange that Brown can't set the players up a little better, or maybe I am overestimating the worth and smarts and heart of the players and he has and they can't follow instructions worth a lick.

Whatever the reasons, top to bottom, is has been infuriating.

Yes, you should get a prop. You have been more correct than not at his juncture of the season.

To be fair, your consistancy is noted except when they won 6 in a row and you went into exile.

franco, some players play hard no matter where they are. Other take nights off and have their whole career. The problem is the guys we have that dont take nights off arent any good

what do you think Larry would do with Chaney's 37 win squad?

Larry is supposed to be a good teacher. I would expect if he was good, things like stupid turnovers would be happening less, not more.

Mo Taylor is earning his money, but the coach isn't.

You can't blame him for Q Rich being a total non factor, and you can't blame him for injuries.

But if your team doesn't know what you want from them, don't expect effort.

Its like parenting- if you're kid knows what your rules are- things are good- but if your schizophrenic (like LB & his rotations and his messages to the players), then you grow up a dysfunctional child.

If your team doesn't know what to expect from them you can expect confusion. But if they are being handed 19 bazillion dollars a year than yes I expect effort. NO shame in losing because of confusion. There is shame in quitting. We have a team of guys that have never learned in their careers what pride, consistent effort, intensity, and oh did I mention pride is about. Coach's are not miracle workers they cannot teach this.

I've changed jobs before, had differnet expectations. I've dealt with different software systems, management styles and co-workers. I've come into jobs knowing what I had to do, and other jobs where I was clueless for months. I never used any of these moments as an excuse not to work hard. I would not be able to look myself in the mirror the next day. You still have to go out and do your job. Rebound, play Defense, and give effort and the rest will take care of itself. NO MORE EXCUSES FOR OUR PLAYERS. NO MORE BLAMING THE COACHING STAFF FOR THEIR INEPTITUDE. It's time for our players to MAN UP and F'in stop stealing money.

If we had 8 or 9 guys that gave a consistent effort we would have an 8 or 9 man rotation. Until that moment expect the rotation to change everyday, and not before. You do not reward lack of effort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do all teams, even bad ones, have set rotations?

I point to Larry for not be able to get effort out of the players- just pick your 8 or 9 best guys and if they don't give the effort, rip them in practice and during film sessions and at half time.

NO MORE MALIK ROSE.

The Rose and Q appearances on the hardwood is killing me. Stop putting them in the damn ball game. Q is ineffective. You better off activating Ariza if you going to have Q chuck up bricks all game.

That's what most rebuilding teams do. That's what we've done for the past few years. That's why you continue to see guys make the same mistakes 3, 4 5 years from now. Not even Larry wants to give Malik minutes every night, but how do you sit him and let Curry and the gang give the effort they do every other night? What's the alternative? You cannot reward inconsistent effort

Sometimes the worst thing that can happen is to get what you want. (or think you want.)

"We" wanted Larry because he's a great coach.
"We" wanted younger players because we were tired of mediocre, overpaid vets.

But now the question: Is this the right mix? Right coach, right players? Or will does it just need time to develop?

https:// It's not so hard.

it may very well need time to develop. But this is New York -- and nothing seems to develop here anymore.

Knowing Isiah, he will bring in new players next year -- anything to make it seem like he knows how to build a winner'

it's an ongoing cycle

exactly.... I guess this saying holds so true: Be careful of what you ask for, because you just might get it... LOL..
