how Kiki built Denver

pass first point guard - check
rugged athletic defensive minded 2-way pf - check

athletic shot blocking rebounding center (bonus) who knows how to pass - check

dominant scorer on the wings - check

a shooting guard who can shoot and defend - minus. But in his defense he did try and sign Ginobli to an offer sheet and he was smart enough not to throw the $$$ at Crawford to patch up the hole.

the bench

good back-up pg - check
good back-up 4 and 5's - check
back-up wings - minus. I like DerMarr and Hodge may turn into something but neither are go to guys.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

...yeah, Denver is 25-22 and has never made it out of the first round with Melo. They're a good team, but they have been looking for a shooting guard for two years.

>I didn't say I support the idea, but it's not comparable to other businesses. Larry's $10 million per year contract gives him tremendous power. Do you really doubt that?

Rich - you KNOW I love you like a red-headed, freckle-faced step cousin on my daddy's side of the family but... of course Larry has tremendous influence.

ARe you really suggesting the coach should have MORE power than the GM?

If you have followed the counter-espionage that IS MSG politics, for once the chain of command has a semblance of order. I like Larry Brown. I simply don't trust his health, or attention span, to see the franchise through to the Promised Land of The Eastern Conference Finals.

He can, however, help lay a foundation iin playing "the right way".

The Knicks as a franchise have dug a very deep trench (changing leadership and removing the debris) and are are just starting to pour the foundation (yoots) concrete. The structural steel (experience) hasn't even arrived at the site yet.

Meanwhile, new (frustrated fans and resentful media) tenants are compaining about the furnishings after two years and one month.

Who said that building a skyscraper would be a simple process?

I would say Larry has far more power than Zeke right now. If this team makes any trades, I can guarantee you the trades will have Larry's stamp all over them.

We're not talking about what should be. We're talking about what is.

>Earl, I basically agree with you in most circumstances.

Nalod - even when we disagree, I respect your point of view.

Nothing is wrong with a healthy dialogue. Who knows?... we might even learn something cool along the way.

We are Knicks fans.

If Larry Brown the GM = Eric Snow and other has been washed up players- no thanks.

Isiah is only the messenger- yes he makes decisions, but its Dolan & Mills that also need to go- they're the ones that say- make the play offs this year- don't rebuild, build a winner now. Now maybe isiah has told them he could do it, build a winner with questionable trades, adding salary- but, if he did, Dolan & Mills heard what they wanted to hear.

I suspect Dolan is a bit of a yes man- never wants to hear the other side.
