after 2 1/2 years, yes, i believe isiah should be on the way out...especially with the bad pr of the moment.

isles, you're still just a bitter bitter poster...

how is it 2 1/2 years? it's 2 years and a month.

Isles, while I know you'd love to jump to conclusions, let's wait until this case is resolved. If Isiah is guilty, he should clearly go. If he isn't, he deserves to stay, at least through the end of the season.

now there is almost no way to fire isiah until this legal thing is finished.

They fire him, they admit guilt and guarantee a big pay day for this woman.

That's not true. They'll be firing him for his job performance not the lawsuit. Nobody could argue that his job performance isn't worthy of that type of action.

please. you don't think the lawyers for this woman would play that up in the courts as some kind of culpability?

Maybe they fire Isiah and Larry takes over as GM. Didn't Larry want to be the GM of the Cavs?

I say wait out this year. If we aren't clearly a good team by the beginning of next year then the Isiah experiment is done.

i agree... i give him til the end of this season to give us all a definite impression that this team is headed in the right direction... otherwise, axe him.

Yeah, even the very most impatient people should be willing to see what he can get for our trade assets this year and whether they will compliment Marbury, Frye, and Curry

Curry, Frye, Lee, and Nate are pieces to build around. Steph's value has been demonstrated during his injury.

The biggest problem with this franchise is still Dolan.

You beat me to it. I assume he means expiring contracts but we all know very well that they can't get you the types of players that we need to build around.

And why is he including Marbury when even Isiah admits that they aren't building around him anymore?

Those aren't the types of players you build around. Those are the types of players who come off the bench to relieve the types of players that you build around.

well, we should have some pieces, i mean we have spent how much money in the last two years--we have a 125mm$ payroll, on top oif it we were willing to take back players with questionable health curry-q when no one else was likely touching them weve always overpaid with picks the team has been thrown together by pieces, not by a team concept and the IQ of the players is generally low
isiah has spent more money in his two years--then most GM spend in 5-6 years

and for all that money spent where are we? we are deep it in with no site of land.

i'll put it to you this way, q1 had PEAK value after last season and the suns STILL had to throw in a #1 AND money to get back a 30+ year old guy with $25+ mil left on his deal.

what would we have to do to move him now that his value is ROCK BOTTOM and contract is STILL uninsured?

ISLESFAN they asked you 3 times who should replace isiah and you ignored it all the time. Typical complainer-hindsight is 20/20. You afraid of being ridiculed for your answer? PUT UP OR SHUT UP.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I want someone with a realistic and well thought out rebuilding plan.

Someone who will acquire top draft picks instead of trade them away.

I want someone who can understand the that salary cap is a part of the NBA and will look to get under the cap in order to create financial flexibility instead of someone who completely disregards the cap and added another $40MM to where Layden had us over the cap.

I want someone who will use the MLE to sign up and coming young players instead of older vets who either have no game or are past their primes.

I want someone who will look to trade for younger veterans who will grow with the nucleus instead of acuiring older veterans who have no future with the team other than taking minutes away from younger players with upside.

I want someone who doesn't need the spotlight and worries more about how he is doing his job than how he is being perceived at how he is doing his job.

I want someone who will be accessible when things are going bad and the team is going through the inevitable growing pains and doesn't run and hide on "scouting trips" when things get tough.

I want someone who will stand behind his players when they morally do the right thing instead of siding with the NBA against them.

And last but not least, I want someone who won't continually embarrass the team that we root for. And I'm not just talking about the current situation. Although someone who keeps his hands to himself would be a good thing too.

As for a specific person, that's what the interview process is for. Now STFU.

Just what I thought- alot of bullsht and nothing specific. yada yada. No matter who they hire in ,2 yrs you will be calling for him to be fired too. Some people have nothing better to do than complain.

Trust me, the day Isiah is fired is the day I tone down the rhetoric. Unless they hire some other idiot.

Isles- until Dolan is gone or has a brain transplant, there is no way you get the person you are looking for.

The day that Isiah was announced as the new GM- I groaned- I just thought MSG could do better.

For all that, he's done a decent job. He's taken risks and made gambles- some have paid off, some look dubious.

Overall, I think if you grade him he's a B and B is a fine grade.

I mean, yeah- he could of traded like some here wanted for Kwame Brown.
