Steven A. Smith just said exactly what I said after the game: don't get too excited, even though we won five straight we are still 12-21 and not a respectable basketball team yet. I guess he's not a real fan either.

I saw the interview on the play by play. But he also pointed out some positives too didn't he.

That doesn't change the truth of the point I was making.

This team has been decent for some time.

Wins are not the measure here. On december 2nd we played the pistons in detroit pretty tough. thats when you first started to see it.

I can't say we are a good team yet, but we ain't a bad one at the moment.

I actually like it better this way, that way teams will underestimate us and it will be even more humiliating for them when they lose. I want the knicks to play with a chip on there shoulders.

I'm not going to go on and on with this but yes, you both said the same thing. But it makes a world of difference when one presents both sides of an arguement, it shows more objectivity and not simply negativity. When you acknowledge the bad and the good, both sides, it makes a more balanced and respectable arguement.

And liek i said in the game thread, we do need to work much harder on defense (we both agree), however the shorter rotation, the confidence, chemistry has been laid upon which we can build the defense.

So everytime someone says something good on this forum they have to say something negative as well? Who's making the rules here? Nobody has to say everything in every post. I say alot of positive things about players on this team doesn't mean I have to include it in every post.

Your posts have a tendency to lean towards the negative side a lot of the time is all I'm saying. Again, not going on about it any further, its just something I've noted.

it's the difference between making a lopsided arguement and making a strong arguement with some objectivety. Won't change your arguement but it will show to others that your have at least pondered both sides and overcome the negatives of your case.

Yes, I know how to make a good argument...that's not how this forum works though--people write an opinion about the team not a worked out thesis. My point is that if isles has to say something positive then rvhoss has to say something negative...but it doesn't work that way.

do you know what I noticed recently? that if your posts are objective, take all things into consideration, looks at things from all angles, and doesnt overate or underate anything, then people will generally tend to not respond to your post.

Exactly. That's how it works unfortunately.

That's a really good point. I notice that as well. It's human nature - people like to go at it. If you actually manage to be balanced and fair, no one has anything to rip.

[isles] No. Actually it's not a good point. Get off the kool aid. It's not human nature, it's a negative trait transmitted from the mind of Isiah Thomas to all human beings within a 1000 mile radius. [/isles]

[bonn] Didn't you say that it wasn't a good point in that thread 6 years ago. You contradicted yourself. Admit it. ADMIT IT!! [/bonn]

[nalod] At some point I realized, my daughter's friend looks a little like Jessica Alba! [/nalod]

[Mk1] Speaking of good points, Lee Ridnour is better than Marbury multiplied by Bob Cousy to the John Stockton power. Marbury needs to be traded for a TRUE SUPERSTAR like Paul Pierce or Bonzi Wells. [/mK1]

[tomverve] The way people make points these days is statistically skewed. We have to use a new adjusted system to measure the validity of points and truly decide whether they are good or not. [/tomverve]

[DJ] HEY!! Live in section 404, some guy sitting in front of us made the same exact point. [/DJ]

[Fishmike] I agree. That's a good point. Wanna see a pic of my wife's butt crack? [/Fishmike]

I closed my eyes and imagined this was being said in the character of "Horeshack" on Welcome Back Cotter.
