Yeah, tremendous post Briggs! I saw that Uconn/LSU game too, and man what a game.... Tyrus Thomas really did look good. A little raw offensively but lots of energy. Rejection city early on - His 7 blocks were a season high...Threw a couple of Boone's shots back at him, even blocked one of his dunk attempts. A little smaller but more athletic Theo Ratliff is what I was thinking while watching him but you guys are right, he does remind me a lot of Stromile Swift - good call. Imagine if he was as tall as Armstrong or Boone. Wow... You guys really think he'll go as high as 7-8 in this next draft? Also, yeah, Glenn Davis is slippery for a 300 pounder, huh? And seems like he can really play at a high level with the extra weight. Still, another guy, like Thomas, who really could use another 2 inches...Also, I was really impressed with Darrel Mitchell. He was really having a good game until he pulled up lame in the second half. Stayed agressive - was really looking for his shot. I thought he was also running the team nicely too. He was getting the ball to the bigs in good position. Even though they're unranked, watch out for the Tigers... I know Gay had about 18-20 pts. but I don't know about him...Would you really take him with the first overall in the next lottery? He took a lot of bad shots. Threw up a lot of bricks. Every time I see him he seems to have a rough game...That kid Rashad Anderson can really stroke it from deep. He was all net on quite a few he took...Your right on on the Tyrus Thomas/Hilton Armstrong matchup in the 2nd half. It really was money everytime Armstrong got the ball in close against T-Time. I like Hilton a lot. Hasn't really done much so far for the Huskies program and he's been around for a little while now, but you guys are right, he's got potential to be a good big man. May finally be coming into his own... Outside of T-Time and Armstrong, some other guys I'm keeping my eye on (and wouldn't mind if they fell into the Knicks lap at 29) are: (1) Hassan Adams (Jumper needs a little work but man is Hot Sauce tough as nails or what? What can't he do? He was even showing a well-developed off-hand in close against the Bruins which impressed me. Would easily play over Quentin Richardson right now.) (2) JP Batista (I saw the Gonzaga/St. Joseph's game on ESPN last week where he was unstoppable. I think he hit every shot he took. Came up HUGE when Morrison had an off-night shooting. In case they ever second guessed giving up on Mike Sweetney, this could be the guy to replace what he brought to the table - another big wide load post presence. They probably would go in a different direction though.) (3) Aaron Afflalo (Absolutely in love with this kid's game. They kept comparing him to Kobe in the Arizona game which is a little crazy, but he can really ball. I like him better than Adams, as a matter of fact. 2 years younger than Hot Sauce. Only a sophmore, might not declare until 2007. Huge in the win against the Wildcats - UCLA finally gets a win in Arizona. Hell, he even had a game won in Arizona last year before Salim Stoudamire drilled that long 3 from the top to win it. In fact, I love all of Afflalo's teammates, particularly Josh Shipp, Darren Collison, and Lorenzo Mata. UCLA is gonna be a tough out in March, trust me.) (4) Dee Brown/James Augustine (really liked both up until that Iowa game. Both had terrible games and appeared to get rattled when calls didn't go their way [Augustine] or when their shots weren't falling [Brown]. Dee Brown really fell apart in that game. If his shot isn't falling his whole game suffers, it looks like. The game before that, they both played awesome against Michigan State, especially Brown who was unstoppable.)
