lets not get ahead of ourselves, im very impressed by frye,he can shoot and has shown that he can post up. However his 1on1 defense needs work and he needs to rebound a lil better even though that has improved. Frye is more of a Rasheed
''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''

Channing sure is a leader. That's been noticeable for awhile. He does have similarities to Duncan and Sheed, but let's see where they take him. His inside game and 3pt game are really coming around. This is gonna be fun!

Rasheed's an excellent defender... on offense, they have some similarities... but like i said, Channing's a more talented Charles Smith who plays with some heart... he's got a lot to learn on defense to make any comparisons to Sheed accurate, much less Tim Duncan.

not for nothing, and this may sound delusional...trevor ariza delusional, but i think channing already has a better offensive game than sheed and has more range than tim. he may have the best jumper than ANY frontcourt player in the league. look at his f'n %. it's disgusting.

channing has played great, tim duncan won a championship his first year and has three rings, could have had 5. You could move Tim Duncan to ANY team in the nBA right now--the knicks, the Hawks the Raotors and they become a championship contender and that goes bakc to his rookie year. Hes able to control the game on both ends in the paint, his stats while superb, dont even quantify his true presence on a game--very much like a modern day bill russell.
channing has troubles defending 1-1 and picking up fouls. Duncan is a cinder block in the paint. I dont think its fair to compare the two, Id like to think that Frye can be like a kevin mchale type player with more athletiscm. That certainly isnt bad

no it isn't at all, but I don't see the mchale comparisons, but kevin was a hell of a player tho. But seriously I know this "better than Duncan" post can't be serious, I love frye, but lets not go there, we can hope that one day he has the same effect on the knicks that Duncan has on the spurs....

Mchale was a 6-11 finesse post player with pin point accuracy. Channing is a 6-11 player who also has pin point accuracy, yet more athletiscm. A little different in their styles, but similar type of effect, atleast we hope:>)
McHale had so many moves in the post. He was like Hakeem before Hakeem, but not as quick. He did have the dealy midrang jumpeer with the high release that was almost impossible to block.

If Frye becomes anything close to either of those guys, words will not be able to express how i feel.

on d he desnt warrant any of these comparisons though. TD is a defensive juggernaut, Frye is a defensive liability.

definitely has more range than Tim since we've seen him knock down a couple 3's this year & his stroke still looks smooth as butter... Channing's a terrific spot up/face up shooter, but he can't shoot off the dribble or fade away like a KG (but then, who can? KG's a freak of nature)

Those things will come to him. He's working hard, and with those hands he will be able to score off the dribble and shoot the fade away.

He hit a bank shot that reminded me of Duncan, but, lets not go crazy.

He has been banking shots more frequently as the season progresses, it's something alot of players don't do, Duncan is one that has perfected that shot over the years, it's a lost art!.

ok now.. lets not get carried away!! Duncan is probably the best PF. to play the game.. Ususally it takes at least 2 superstars on a team to win a championship.

Jordan did it with pippen, magic did it with Kareem, bird did it with mchale, Kobe it did with Shaq.....

Duncan had done it with Robinson but when robinson left the game, Duncan prove that he could win without him. That's why he's a great player..

Frye is fundamentally talented but got longs way to go reaching Duncan's accolades....

There haven't really been any players in the NBA like him. Enough with the useless comparisons. How many 6'11 players shoot the ball from the outside like Allan Houston and still have the explosiveness to come up with those 3 jams like had last night??? Dirk Nowitzki is one, but they have completely different styles. Rasheed can shoot, but no where near the efficiency of Frye from the outside...

Duncan is a compltely different story. Frye has a long way to go have his kind of a impact. Especially defensively, as mentioned.

Frye is going to be exceptional. He's just a frighteningly efficient scorer.

he's got a tool already that nobody can take from him. He's 6'11 and can drill that jumper with a body on him. What a weapon to build on.

also fish, he can hit the jump hook with either hand, that is impressive..

I noticed that lee, frye and curry have some big hands, those guys really seem to gobble the ball up when it is near them, that is good for big men, especially around the hoop.

yea, but dirk is not really explosive, he is just tall, frye explodes to the basket, kind of like sheed did in his early years...

Actually I think Dirk is real explosive. Guy has a handle, outside shot, 10+ boards. It would be pretty phenomenal if Channing turned into a Dirk.

You're damn right, if Frye turn into Dirk, the Knicks are contenders for years to come.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Dirk is so much more agile. Dirk plays like a 3, he just happens to be 7 feet.
