does the fact that he's playing well negate the fact that the trade was dumb?

I'm glad he's playing well. He's playing alot like when he was a Clipper

I take it you watched him a lot in LA. Does he look to you like he still has the same athleticism he had then and it's just a matter of effort? He's older now and I think he's torn his ACL and achillies since his Clippers' days. How do his speed and strength compare to when he was in LA?

I would never have called him fast, rather quick. He had a good jumper and a variety of post moves, all of which took advantage of his bulk. He did score with aggression and a chip on his shoulder. He was never very focused on D or the boards and even worse in Hou. I just put him in the catagory of another guy that got a big contract and pretty much slacked off. Either he really wants to win, really wants to play or realizes if he wants another contract he better start playing hard now.

Either way its good for us. Hopefully we dont have to wait 4 years to see it with big snacks

fishmike - does the fact Channing Frye is playing well negate the fact that his draft in the first round was dumb?

Gimme a break

Why are people so stubborn to allow Knicks players space to grow?

This is a work in progress

Mo torched KT while he was a member of the Rockets before he got here 1 game... he's always been a good scorer... what's really surprising about him is how much better he's looked on the boards & on D drawing charges... he's really bought into LB's style nicely.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I agree totally, I think some people prefer to be wrong before they can be right...to continue to even bring up the moT trade as being bad is kind of weak at this point. It was just another trade that got a guy that can contribute...salary caps, etc are for those looking for something other than a team to root for IMHO...when I was a kid, I did't care too much about that stuff, and as a fan, I try to stay as positive as possible, being right has nothing really to do with it...but to keep avoiding the fact that the trade netted us a player that contributes for magic beans is just being stubborn.

It was a good trade, we dumped the vin baker mistake for possibly a starting PF.

I tihnk the manup issue can finally be put to rest.

it was a good trade.

its looking like a good trade now because Mo is contributing while Moochie and Vin are logging in DNP's

Too many people would rather play amateur GM and second-guess moves in the rear view mirror before appreciating the fact that HAVING the responsibility for transactions is REALITY.

Isiah Thomlas has worked his azz off to totally change the culture of the Knicks franchise. The future is bright and the present doesn't suck. That in itself, is worthy of recognition.

Like Isiah illustrated perfectly, "people don't pay to see the salary cap play"

You Go Mo Taylor!

Go Knicks.

I love to be wrong when I say that somthing that IT did is awful, and I feel you on the when you were a kid thing about rooting for the team w/out worring bout all the issues outside of just the game. Sometimes I miss the days when I didnt know anythign about the cap, whose contract is bad, how many picks we got, etc.

But sometimes the moves are just mindbogglign, like the James signing. I'll be extatic if he comes around and averages 4 4 and 1.5 as a backup center and knocks some people around while at it, but right now every time he is in, he messes up the flow of the team on both sides of the ball.

I'm all for Mo Taylor playin well, but I don't think we should start him. The Corliss Williamson role is perfect for him. Just come in and score. Considering he has been the enforcer for our team, FINALLY!, I'm actually starting to think of him as one of my fovarite players on the team. Ofcorse that is till the first time he doesnt pass out of a triple team and takes a hook shot from 15 feet out lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Very good article. Taylor's worked hard since the trade. He has his weakness and isn't going to remind anyone of Charles Oakley or Marcus Camby. But he is an asset off the bench and, at some point, will get us in trade (sometime next season) a great deal more than the 2nd round pick and the two useless players we gave up for him.
