I would be happy with an unrestricted draft pick of course. But I don't think it will happen until Toronto goes through all their options starting with the West teams. A trade like this would probably not occur until well after the trade deadline. Just my guess.
I just hope that people will like me

if its for jalen rose by himself, it would be reckless and inane

really it should be for an unprotected denver and their 2nd rounder

We get the better player in the deal and Denver's (currently late lottery) pick? I'd do this but I'd wait a little longer to see if we can get something better for the expiring contracts first.

why? if its presented with an unrestricted pick it, on surface gives the knicks the ability to get better for this yera and for the future. We have another ending contract. are you holding out for hope that the wolves are going to send KG to ny? i wouldnt put .02of faith into it, or until kg is 37

The fact that the scout is there may mean that another Toronto player is involved - maybe Graham or Calderon - instead of the pick. Maybe someone else from the Knicks is involved too.

I just can't see what a TOR-NYK trade could be except one that involved Rose. If you look at their roster Rose is the only significant salary for next year but for Alvin Williams and his option year contract. Maybe TOR is looking for some vet experience to hold down their club for a few years.

I don't know. Unless they are part of a 3-way, it still makes no sense why NY is scouting this team.

the more and more days go by without an artest trade, the more and more i think a bigger deal is brewing (multi-teams) where ny and the lakers may get involved. all speculation of courste but it's weird why this artest thing is taking so long. walsh is either holding out til somebody gets desperate or is in the middle of a huge negotiation in a multi-team deal.

more than anything I think Donnie is trying to tie Stephen Jacksons contract to Artest's. I think he regrets that trade and really dislikes this guy, kinda like our version of Q.

With Golden State, Pietrus is just coming back from injury so he may have been holding things up too. And for the life of me I don't know how Denver can be involved in the mix unless they think the Carmello can play the SG spot. I gotta think that the Wolves are involved.

Getting the 15th pick in a weak draft is nice but not super exciting. If any team that won't make the playoffs is looking to dump salary and will include a proven young player, I'd do that first. Tons of names have been mentioned; not just KG.

So all big trades happen between games 1 and 30? Your view makes absolutely no sense. It's quite the opposite. Big trades happen closer to the trade deadline usually.

Josh Smith and Al Jefferson went around there in the 04 draft, which was supposedly weak after the top.

That's why I WOULD do this deal but it just wouldn't be my first choice as explained earlier.

If you have a middle first, you at least have an asset to deal with if you are thinking about moving up in the draft etc.

yeah, I'm curious, what else do people think is out there for the expiring deals? KG is not coming. Artest is not coming.

we get a mid-first rounder from DEN via TOR, then we have two picks that we can package to move up or get two quality rotation players.

Off the top of my head here are a few names.

Darius Washington Pg (yeah, he's only a soph, and may not be ready just yet, but, with all the freshman and Highschoolers that have been entering over the years, no one is ever really ready. Too much potential to pass up f he's there)

Brandon Rush 2g (already more athletic than Q-Rich)

Shawne Williams (6'9 wing player)
Marcus Williams PG (he might be off the board by the 15-20 pick) just a few

"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.
