I'm pretty sure that Dolan instructed Isiah (when he was hired) that making the playoffs was more important than winning championships. That's probably why he went for the quick fix with Marbury. If he had been able to get Rasheed too, it might have worked.

^ Not interested in unlegit excuses.

Did Dolan force Isiah's hand in trading for Malik and Mo too?

I mean cmon. This is not just 1 mistake. I can buy the whole Marbury experiment reasoning. But this is 1 BS move after another...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Id be looking at guys like Bryan Colangelo, Donnie Nelson, R C Buford
upper management in the spurs, mavericks and suns. these are the best run teams besides Detroit. Cleveland took out Danny ferry from the Spurs and they are sitting at 17-9.

Now your in praise of Cleveland? Ferry gets no credit yet? What has he done? Resigned Big Z and signed Hughes? Wow, and prior to Lebron they have been a joke for 10 years.

Everyone thought Colangelo was nuts when he cleaned house. New owner needed flexibility. They cleaned house, but got Amare first!

Donnie Nelson is a good GM? Please, please explain this one to me.

Pop/Buford has been brilliant.

Suns and spurs whent Euro style with personel and methoed. It works, but if the knicks can have blown it up, I'd be patient, but I doubt many would.

Briggs, everyone is greener!

So tell me this Knicks fans who has done a better job. Scott Layden when he was the GM or Thomas? Obviously people fail to realize that Layden left Thomas with nothing to work with. What was Thomas supposed to do? Who could have done a magical job with the roster that Layden left? What could have been done differently? This all goes back to the way Ewing was pushed out of town during the Layden/Checketts era. That has been what has set us back. The horrific signing of Clarence Weatherspoon. Ring a bell Knicks fans? The trade that brought the two Jazz buddies. The horrific NBA Draft night that saw Artest go to the Bulls. All of this added up. There was nothing the Knicks could have done to satisfy millions of Knicks fans.

Jerome James=weatherspoon
Q-rich=shandon andersen

wrong. Spoon was a guy that been very productive through out his career. He was durable. The problem is we got a fat guy on the wrong end of 30 and all of the sudden he wasnt explosive anymore, just wide. That being said Spoon was always available. He always played hard, and he probably would have been more effective if he wasnt next to guys that were exactly like him. At one point he was the best rebounder off the bench in the NBA and he always had a solid FG%.

JJ never plays. He cant get on the court and he cant stay on the court. When he is on the court he's simply awful. Spoon wasnt a good player, but he had double doubles. He played center when KT was out and grabbed 20 boards playing center. IMO the two arent even in the same ball park. If JJ gave us what Spoon gave us it would have been a good signing.
