I can't believe people are still crying about this trade. I love having Frye as our full-time PF with Kurt's 8/8 on another team. I also love the heart and toughness of the player we drafted in the pick in that trade (Nate).

I can't believe that you're still under some delusion that KT would only take minutes away from Frye instead of the other big stiff's that are currently doing nothing but taking up space.

Sure, why have a 6'9 player with heart and toughness when you can have a 5'7 player with heart and toughness and a tiny brain to go with it. Only you would think that trading big for ridiculously small is a good thing in the NBA.

It was really more about trading old for young.

at the time of the trade I was all for it, but the organization should have been acutely aware of Q's back and given him a thorough physical. Given the Curry sighing - and in sheer hindsight - I don't know if I would have done the trade. Probably not, but I don't know.

What happens in 2 years IF Nate becomes instant O/D off the bench and really galvanizes his role? And in those same 2 years Kurt slows to a crawl? And somehow Q finds his range or his role on the team? Who knows?

fish, are you sure it's not Brown's system that's stifling Q? I didn't see him much in his Clipper days, so I can't make much of a comparison. But I have to think a healthy portion of Q's ineffectiveness is just that Brown isn't maxing out his talent, analogous to what's been happening with Steph. I think Q would do much better on a different team, or maybe he'll start getting better here if he and Larry begin to adjust to eachother better.

The scary thing is how some people who shall remain nameless, BONN, thought that this trade was so lopsided the other way.

Does Isiah ever make a trade where he isn't hosed completely???

Marbury trade...Complete disaster
Crawford trade...Way overpaid and he looks clueless half the time
Mo T trade...Still no point to it
Rose trade...Rose is useless, Lee can't get off the inactive list and this years pick doesn't look like it'll be more than the 29th pick.
Curry trade...Could turn out to be one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA.

Throw in his free agent signings and how does this guy keep his job??? Anything Layden did, this guy is outdoing and then some.

When will people realize that the Marbury and Curry trades were trades Thomas HAD to make. He needed to make the Marbury trade because we didnt have anyone close to being a supposed franchise player. Thomas needed to take a risk on Curry cuz you cannot pass up on a 22 year old big man with skills.

And so you wouldn't trade Yao Ming for Michael Jordan because somehow you're never supposed to trade big for small?

I'd trade KT for Nate any day of the week.

How could anyone say we got hosed? Would you rather see KT on the court right now? Everyone would be crying to ship him out at this very moment. He wouldnt be adding W's for us. Frye is lightyears beyond him.

The problem is Steph, and Larry.

Larry can correct his mistakes, but Steph is a flawed player and will never fit the system. Trading for him was a mistake. I like the guy - but he just doesnt work here.

no Tom... I'm not basing this on Q's bad performance. He's been lost, there's no doubt about that. I have no problem with his bad shooting or how lost he looks at times on the floor. Some will adjust sooner than others. My problem is he cant finish. He cant get off the ground. He doesnt explode to the basket like he did when he was a Clipper. Ive watched him many times around the basket. He doesnt go up strong anymore, he's looking for up and unders or going glass. Its EXACLTY like LJ when we got him. Yes, he was still a good player but he went to using trickery insteady of hops, and of course it cut his career short and had him on the IR at times.

If you wanted that pick so bad you could have offered $3mm in cash or something similar. You didnt need to take on a player with a bad back and a 5 year deal thats not insured.

Holy Ridiculous comparisons batman! Right now, I wouldn't trade Yao Ming for MJ.

I'd trade KT for Nate any day of the week.

Wow! I wasn't against trading KT, but KT is a better player than Nate right now. Will NR ever be as good as KT has been in his career? Possibly, but he isn't now and he has a ways to go to have as good a career as KT.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

By the same token, why hold onto Marbury or anyone else?

I agree with you, if a deal comes along that helps our future by all means trade Marbs, AD, Penny, Mo etc. If not, hold on to them and coahc them to help us.

The problem is, except for our rookies, this is a team of castaways. Now we know why they got castaway.

I would say we will have to get worse before we get better, but we can't get much worse.

I would love to work out some sort of salary-dump, but that will be quite a feat with this bunch. These are the types of guys you get back from salary-dumping.

To me there are no untouchables on the team, even Frye, though I would be loathe to trade him compared to any other player we have.

I dont know if anyone mentioned this...but maybe Q's problem is he and Brandi arent together anymore. Maybe Zeke should give her a call and hook him up lol.

Let's not get hasty. I think Zeke should call her up and hook her up with me first. Let's see if that works first before we consider hooking her up with Q

not really no. Every year picks around that range are exchanged for cash or future considerations.
