the body of evidence is starting to pile up against steph. ball hog, diva.

he is the worlds greatest kill joy.

I never thought this of him, but watching the team with him on the court and off- the level of effort is not there.

he just isn't trying and if you could shed him in a dump type move (i.e., for kvh to dallas or something similar), do it, and do it soon.

I don't mind watching this team win 29 games and hand over draft picks to chicago, but I want to see effort and development and passion.

I think he sucks the energy out of a room.

Do yo think Marbs sucks the energy out of the room or the fans suck the energy out of the room when they boo Marbs even though he was having a good game?

The guy has 21 pts and 5 assists after 3 quarters and is clearly the only player on the team playing well. He comes back in the fourth and fans are booing him. Then we wonder why the energy in the room yhas been sapped. We are the one's that sap it. We are the fans. Home court advantage is giving your team energy not the other way around.

I was about 8 rows back at the game and I noticed nobody was really talking to Marbury at any point during the game.

could you provide more info? Is this on the court? On the bench? Timeouts? Before/after free throws?

Yawn. Another everything wrong in the world is Marbury's fault thread.

pretty much. But when you look for something hard enough, you will see it.

yea and we were down 16+ points. Are you kidding, frye had 16 first half points, he was also playing well, but you know what, it is the PG's responsibility to make sure other guys are involved, is it better for steph to have 21 and 5 and he is the only one, so called playing well, or is it better for him to have 10/12 with curry, frye, Q and others involved and playing as a unit?

this is fromm my "LIVE from section 404..." post:

now, onto the booing of stephon marbury...

- i DO NOT blame marbury for this loss and anybody who does is just a 100% pure hater. yes, he is somewhat unjustly the target of our frustrations as fans. nothing spectacular but a solid game from steph. so why does your friendly neighborhood dj want to ship him out? well, it's something that wasn't shown on tv (at least i don't think it was).

when nate robinson had his altercation with vaughn, all the players on the court were involved. i look over to our bench...the coaches are up and talking and seeing what's going on. the players are up looking to go on the court but know they can't. they're all standing up, being restrained by assistant coaches and are all talking it up and being animated. everyone was all into it...except for one guy. that's right, your franchise player in stephon marbury. he was sitting on the bench with towels in his lap, and towels covering his head...just sitting there not giving a flying **** what was going on. no emotion shown. no getting up from his seat (while EVERYBODY else in the arena was). he was just sitting there in his own little world. my description is not doing justice but it was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. to baseball fans, this was exactly like the yankees/redsox game from 2 years ago (the 14 inning affair). the redsox were challenging and every single one of their players were standing on the first step of the dugout as they came back in the game...every single one except nomar garciaparra who was just sitting on the bench in his own world...and probably the last straw in his career as a redsox. that was what steph did. not to mention his absolute reluctance to re-enter. if people were booing him b/c of his play, well i don't agree with that. but i think they were booing b/c of what he did during the squirmish that wasn't televised. i'm sorry everyone, and i don't care if i sound like a hater or whatever, but I WANT HIM OFF THE TEAM IMMEDIATELY. he is this black cloud over this team. i know moving him now doesn't mean we're gonna win but we're better off for it. i'm sorry, but that's just how i feel.

Well the whole time he was on the bench and Nate and Crawford were igniting our run, marbury was sitting on the bench, showing no emotion, with a towel over his head. At halftime when players were shooting around he was always away from the team, not talking to anyone. During timeouts too, he was pretty quiet and didn't say much to anyone else, nor did anyone say anything to him. There's just a different energy and style of play when he isn't in the game, and overall he seems to be apart from the team.

TKF obviously that wasn't my question. There was no doubt we were playing poorly and with no energy. My question is that really Marbury's doing or have the fans made it such?

nah, the fans were cheering on that unit, I am not going to blame the fans for sucking the energy out of the team, if anything it is the other way around..

The garden was as loud as it has been in a while when we had Nate and Crawford at the guard positions leading the run, and when Nate was the only one with the balls to actually challenge a guy at the rim.

No, not now. That's the way it's always been. If I walk into my home gym knowing I am going to get boo'd it's going to be hard for me to come in and "be up" when I know noone has my back.

It's not a coincidence that players play better on the road in NY when we are losing.

It's not coincidence that some players play great for other teams and then come here and stink

None of this is coincidence.

Of course the players have responsibility to play hard. But it's all tied in together. Management, coaching, US, it's all tied in together. I am yet to hear a player say booing made him play harder. Normally they just say in a somber voice "that's NY" But you will here a 1000 times players say "the fans were great tonight, they really picked us up.

Players should play hard everynight. Fans should boo when the team is not playing hard. Fans should not boo when a guy played hard and the rest of his team did not. This is debilitating.

What did Marbs do worthy of getting boo'd. When the guy stinks I say boo the crap out of him. But last night was ridiculous. On those nights when Jamal is playing Ole D noone is booing him. When nate is going 1-10, no assists and turning the ball over noone is booing him. When Steph is doing this he is getting boo'd. When he goes 21 and 5 through 3 quarters he is getting boo'd.

Sorry to suggest that maybe we should get behind him. But what do I know, we have a million championship banners treating our players the way we do, so let's stick to it.

I have to agree with you here, NY fans most of the times can be damn fools, just idiots, hey mariano Rivera won 4 championships, and put up HOF numbers in 8 years and some jackass fans booed him over 1 blown save. playing here sucks a lot of the time,I don't agree with the booing, it does nothing to help the situation, I think it is just moronic to boo a struggling player, expecting him to react positively to that, I hate that for steph..

What is going to make Marbs enjoy coming to the gym and playing hard for the Knicks when whether he plays hard or not he is going to be boo'd. Who would enjoy playing under those circumstances? I don't care how much they make, they are still human.
