Wait a minute, if expiring contracts wont be the key to our success does this mean we'll be trying to build a winner with low draft picks and the MLE?
I hope not. I hope Dolan is either planning to get under the cap eventually (highly unlikely) or just putting spin out there.

Is that a good plan? Do we even have a plan?

Either Curry and Frye develop into one of the dominant frontcourts in the league or we we be lost on mediocrity mountain for a long, long time.

What low picks, we've traded away at least 3 potential future lottery picks and if the checkbook is tightened there won't be anymore buying of bottom of the 1st rd picks for bad contracts like Malik Rose. We'd have to rebuild with second rd picks, the MLE and LLE.

Forget about how many teams have rebuilt with lottery picks and cap space, how many teams have rebuilt in this situation?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

If Dolan is serious, he should let Penny's and AD's contracts expire.

he'd buy penny & AD out sooner than the deadline- offer them a lump sum up front & release them so they could go sign elsewhere.

I think they'd take on salary (e.g. Rose & Toronto) if they got back value (i.e., picks)

But, if you're dolan & you believe LB is a great coach, you've got to be wondering about Sulkbury & his $18m contract and why the team plays better with Nate.

The low picks would be this years San Antonio 1st rounder, and next year's chicago pick, or ours, whichever is WORSE.

But technicalities aside, I believe we are in basic agreement here.

Can't believe some people take seriously spin given to the media....
What Dolan, Isiah, or anyone else tells the media is useless.
I applaud their consistancy, because everything they do is useless also
