Gadzuric is 7 years older than Bogut...I'm pretty sure Bogut will improve a little bit in 7 years. As far as a go to move, how many players had a go to move in their rookie season? Marbury doesn't even have a go to move.

exactly Gadzuric wasn't averaging 8pts, 7rebs & 1blk in only 26mins as a rookie. Bogut is easily becoming my favorite player behind Duncan both of them hooked up my fantasy bball team today!

OK, so I guess we are not out of line by saying that Frye is going to be a superstar, because most of you guys are going gaga over a guy with very modest stats, if someone says frye reminds them of a young duncan, this board goes bannanas, and fyre stats are more impressive than that... I refrenced Gadzurich not to say that Bogut will be no better, I am saying right now his game is very similar, slightly better but very similar..

By your logic Frye is Kurt Thomas with hops. run in reverse you can see how screwy you and your logic are.

its not the stats that we're gaga over its the court presence. The Defense, the boardwork, the passing, the attitude...

It's not all about STATS in a rookie year. By the end of the year Boguts "modest" stats will begin to increase and his impact on the game which is already immense in which he has now, will not decrease it will only increase as well. You can't base all comparisons and expectations on stats alone, if you watched the guy in college you would see his impact on the game that he had there has transferred over very nicely to the nba, the offense takes time and it will come.

that is fair, but I can say the same thing for quite a few rookies this year, all I am saying is that he is being overrated by some who then turn around and use stats to degrade our players and give this guy a pass..

yeah that is another glaring thing. The guy was an incredible college player. he single-handedly carried his team in the tournament. His ceiling is pretty high whereas Gadzuric is a role player at best

Fair enough TKF, I don't know your talking about but I have a few ideas. I agree though, you can't have it both ways when your going to use stats so I see where your coming from.

some guys only play to put points on a stat sheet, and thei 8 assists to go along with it, some guys do a lot more. And what matters evenmore is the position they do it from. Marbury through-out his career has been the primary ball-handler, majority shot-taker, plays 40 minutes. But in 40 minutes the guy gives you a minimum amount of stls, a minimum amt of rebounds, no blocks, your teams points in transition are generally among the lowest. That is why people blow off his 20 & 8.

Now you look at at guy like Walker. Same scenario, plays alot of minutes, takes alot of shots, but with that you get a big who can take a ball off the glass and push 90 feet, find people with the pass, step out and knock down 3's.

Stats to player impact measures aren't for the obvious, its for the stuff that falls outside the lines. A pf hitting 2 3's a game and getting 5 assists a game, responsible by either pass or filling the lanes for multiple points in transition defies the blueprint.

You have a center like Bogut who can make plays whether its passing or stepping out and setting screens [for a jumpshooting team] for his team out of the high-post, is a force on the boards, especially the offensive one which is a huge plus for a team that scores mostly from the perimeter, blocks shots, knows how to play positional D and bodies people trying to back him down, draws charges (something hard to do on post D uf you're light in the ass) at 20 is going to excite.
