Marty:

No way IMO Houston takes on Marbury's contract AND gives us Luther Head.

I mean I could be wrong, but I'm sticking by my story -- Houston could really need Marbury right about now, especially with Yao set to miss a few weeks, and T-Mac oft injured. Even ex-Rocket Eddie Johnson suggests they need a PG that can really penetrate into the paint. And I can't think of any PG better at doing that than yours truly.

That's a big 3 right there that has a good 3-4 years to do something special.

As for us, we get rid of longterm heavy salary, and get to reevaluate how we really want this team to be constructed.

IMO, I'd like to have Crawford at point, with Curry and Frye up front. The 2 holes we need to fill are SG and SF. I'd love to see a guy like Shane Battier who plays defense AND can stretch the perimeter with his 3-ball. At SG, who knows.

Hell, I wouldn't mind having Posey AND Battier. 2 defensive able guys that can stretch the defense and who won't demand touches.

That leaves most of the touches to Curry and Frye, ala our future.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Houston is one of about 3 to 4 teams that might consider Marbs at the trading deadline. Only way I do it is for expiring contracts, and at least two draft picks. The contracts can't be any longer than two years at least. Ans say no to Crawfrod running the point. Turnover machine.
Minny might take Marbury back to give themselves another scorer to go with KG and Wally. I believe the Kandi man's contract expires this summer. Again, I need draft picks.
Toronto, I doubt would do it. There rebuilding and don't think they want a bloated contract
Heres a team from left feild. I'm sure they won't do it but, what about Boston. They need another scorer to go with Pierce and Davis. Ainge has been known to do whacky things. How about Marbury and the pick from the spurs, for Lafrentz (horrible contract to match Marbury) and Gerald Green. I'm sure Boston doesn't want to part with Green, but where does he fit in with Pierce and Davis getting heavy minutes and there still relatively young. I know getting the kid Green is a long shot but why not place a call

I actually kinda liked that boston trade idea but I dont think boston would take steph unless we took blount also I have a feeling that if steph gets traded, crawford would get exposed as an inconsistent PG, if we trade marbury to cut costs and go full rebuild then we need to get a replacement PG from somewhere. the question is where?

If we could pull of boston trade, Green could be the small forward of the future. he's only 19 or 20 and would have a chance to grow along side Frye and Curry. he's a perfect macth. Curry impacts the game in the paint while Frye can impact the game without stepping foot in the paint. Green gives us an athletic wing player who can slash and create his own shot.

actually now that I think about it boston wouldn't take steph even if we did take blount becuase his contract is just too scary for a rebuilding team to take, the trade with houston might be the most realistic one, but If we did give them steph, then I think that we would have to take back juwan howard, plus give them somethin like david lee, if we want to take back head. also I dont think we'll get picks either.

also while we are speculating about ways to trade steph, perhaps we should also try to come up with ways to create a buzz with the garden to attract fans.

I agree about having to give up one of our youngings to get Head.

But no ****in way Isiah agrees to take back Howard. I mean, he's made a few questionable moves, but he's not THAT stupid. Taking back Swift is enough, but b/c he's young and athletic it would probly be acceptable.

Besides, Howard is starting for Houston now anway. Let them have him.

And as far as any picks......well, Marbury is a top 10 talent, so I'm pretty sure Zeke could sneak out a protected 1st.

Does this trade make us better in any way, shape or form? I highly doubt it. Swift is such a low IQ player that Lee would automatically get the nod over him and he'd be burried on the bench. David Wesley?? Future pick? What's it gonna be? #20? I don't think so. If Isiah makes this trade, I want him fired. You don't trade your best player for crap. This would be worse than the Ewing trade.

Well smartypants, in this scenario, you're trading 78 Million in salary for about 36 Million. That's cutting more than half of Steph's contract.

Also, if Isiah DOES intend on getting rid of James, Swift could come in and backup Curry. Anyway, it makes sense seeing as how Zeke was said to be targetting him during the summer...

Which does exactly what for us in terms of cap room, again? Oh yeah, virtually nothing.

Dear Steph

Just look for the open man, make the pass where HE wants the ball... give him a high five for making the shot, don't forget to smile every now and then.... and all will be forgiven.

I wonder what Reezy might be like in two more years? We got enough projects, why bring on more? NY knick fans love potential, but not the time it takes to realize it.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

if marbury is our best player then it by a marginal amount, alson the trade shed's salary with a low if any decline in overall productivity. the reason why I say this stems from the fact that I just dont see marbury as having that big of an impact on the knick's games.

First off, Marbury has been here for two years now and we aren't very good. So whats the point of keeping him? We could go 6-17 without him. Losing Marbury's contract to Houston would help on if Isiah is truely trying to rebuild this team. I would only trade him to houston for expiring contracts, a first round pick, and hope that I can squeeze Head into the deal.
With Marbury's contract gone, and Penny and AD walking in the summer, thats close to 45 million off the cap. Mo Taylor leaves the following summer which is about 9 million. I think Houston and JW contract should be up soon as well. Look, if your gonna rebuild, it takes time. I doubt seriously Houston would give us Swift, but I'd take Head in a second.

10+ extra Million in cap space can mean alot in a few years. You just can't see it now...

Have any of these members of the "Throw Steph under the bus club" revoked their memberships? I'm sure a few have.
