I can just see...

Mike: Hey Isiah, want to come on my show today?
Isiah: Will Dog be there?
Mike: No, he's on vacation!
Isiah: Really? ahhh what the heck!

yes, Russo is a blathering idiot. I hate listening to him try to talk basketball. it's so obvious he never watches a game until the playoffs.

Great recap nyk4ever. It was still just more rationalization BS though from the two faced Isiah.

That was what I needed to hear from Zeke. I am glad to hear that Curry/Frye is the model. What I wouldn't give to have 1) a prototypical PG; 2) an All-star SG that can shoot the lights out; and 3) a shut down defender SF a la Bruce Bowen. That is the squad that I would accept as my team. If anyone can think of a series of trades to acquire Brevin Knight, Michael Redd and Bruce Bowen (or any other lock down defender at the 3; without giving up Curry or Frye, I would have my desired team.
You know I gonna spin wit it

yeah you can tell Mike has been watching the Knicks a little more this year since his criticism of Curry, Marbury, crawford & Q were right on and praise his praise of Frye as well. Mad Dog just goes by what the media and stats say. You're right he only watches come playoff time. And he has the nerve to call the NBA Regular season meaningless when it means a lot to to a heck of a lot of people just not to him. It's real easy to criticize Marbury based on what the media thinks and criticize Q by looking at his stat sheet and seeing that he's a career 39% shooter who takes a ton of 3's. it takes a lot more than that. I'll take the opinion of anyone who watched the game over his anyday

I think this was the first time the Isiah has come out and didn't scoff at the idea of trading Marbury. He's letting everyone know it's time to get your crap together under Larry or you have no future here...he ain't playin.

Man if we had that everything would be so much better right now! I'd love to go after Brevin Knight but I don't think we have what it takes. Maybe they accept the Spurs late first round pick

Yeah Knight, it certainly sounded that way to me too. It was odd to hear Isiah speak like this because most of the times before he always just sounded so extremely sure that Marbury was going to work out and that he'd be a Knick for life but this time it didn't sound like that. Everything hinges on how this first half of the year works out.

Thats because he HOPES that things will work out between Larry and Marbury but he knows that anything can happen with those two on the same team. But as you see, it he has to chose between one of the other, the old man prevails!

Does this mean that they don't talk on the phone everyday and aren't best buds for life anymore?

I guess like any good blood sucking leech, Isiah is detaching himself from Marbury after using him and is looking for a new host body, in this case Curry and Frye. Until the media, the fans or Dolan himself sours on them and it's time to find somebody new to keep himself attached to whoever will help him avoid criticism and keep those Cablevision checks rolling in.

I don't think thats it. I just think Isiah is finally open to the idea of trading Marbury because he says that we might be better off without him. He's problably really frustrated at the lack of capspace and flexibility right now
