Isiah isn't exactly the best GM around.
He did up the talent, but at what cost?
If I was GM, I wouldn't have traded for Marbury. At best he's a Robin, and not a very good one at that. Yet here in NY he's our "ace", and you can thank Isiah for that.
i'm not sure what other player we could have gotten to build around at the time. and remember, we were still trying to compete with houston expected to return.
many say we should have gone the other route, and traded the bad contracts for expiring deals, but that would have cost us our draft picks, while also seriously reducing how much money we could play with. isiah has flipped the roster over, brought in much better talent(a lot easier to trade if we have too), and he still has assets to work with(over 28mil in expiring deals). i'm not complaining. its a slow process(which is why many believed it couldnt be done in NY), but also fun watching some of these kids grow, and thats what i expected.
