I'm most certainly intersted in this trade. With all due respect to Q, b/c I like him very much, but I think Jefferies can be a better fit for this team and can do some good things, particularly on the defense. I like Atkins a lot too, but where does this leave Nate/ Crawfish/Marbury? Does one smell pine time? Does one get traded?

I'd assume they'd be moving Marbury to SG. This is a good deal if you're convinced that the first 20 games aren't a fluke and Q simply can't be the player he used to be. If you think he can return to his 16/6 form, it's a bad deal. Neither of the players we'd be getting have ever been close to as solid as Q was the last two years.

Bad trade in my opinion until we know what comes after it.

i think that Q will come aroung soon and get his stride going but i would say that i would go for a defensive minded sf even though we already got ariza a Q2

not a bad deal, considering how Q's been playing. Though that's tough for him, funeral and then get traded. whew.

more interesting is what this means for the backcourt. Does Jamal start then? Is Chuck a backup or is this so that Steph can move to the 2 and not turn the ball over 50 times a game?

AWESOME trade idea. Jeffries could use a change of scenery, he's a very talented player, don't know why things haven't clicked for him yet in the pro's but he was always a top player in college at Indiana. Has a nice J and like the reports says, plays defense, if Isiah managed to plug him into the 3 and get a LB pg at the same time that would be a great deal for Q.

Successful Scenario

This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I guess it would be a good trade for NY, because they fill two needs: a PG that Brown will like and a talented AF that should be able to get some playing time with Ariza. It would look like a good trade if you consider how bad Q-Rich has been playing, but that's tough to do because its been a very tough year for him and I can't believe that he won't ever go back to being the solid 16/6 player he has been for most of his career. It balances our roster a lil. If you say that Stephon would play SG then it would be ok, because if not then we are left thin at SG.

I'd rather see one of our many bigs (Davis, Rose, MoT, James) go before Q-Rich because we know this just hasn't been the real Q playing. But, its Isiah who will make the deals...

We would be left with a great need for a sharp shooter. Not that Q was one here, but he was supposed to. Without him we would need to get a SG that can really shoot it, especially from the 3 point line.

no thanks, we have had sooo much turnover the last few years, now that LB has somewhat settled on a lineup, let's see if these guys can produce. Guys will play better once they know what there role is. No more trades this year, unless it is for a top five player.

Ohh, and would it only be Q for Akins/Jeffries? Because with Q-Woods we have no free spot...

Unfortunately that's not the reality of this team. We are in great need of a PG and a SF, and we still need to deal one or two big men to balance the team. Brown hasn't really settled for a rotation, and most of it is because he has no good options at those positions (PG and SF). We really need a trade or two to balance this team...

But how do you make the moves without the free spot? Do you cut someone? Do you send someone down to the NBDL (can we?) ? Do you make this trade after making a different trade to free up a spot?
