Two Q's on the same squad.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Is anybody else disgusted at how we can only bring in players that other teams have no interest in? What a freaking joke.
hey Isles, that is what a trade is. Teams give up on players and try out some other teams players who that team has given up on.

When will cats realize that Isiah COLLECTS picks between offseasons.

i hope i'm recollecting this correctly:

A. -2 traded 2 #1's in the marbury deal.
B. -1 traded a #2 in the nazr deal
C. +2 acquired 2 #1's in the malik rose deal.
D. -1 traded a #2 in the mo taylor deal.
E. +1 acquired #1 in the q deal.
F. -3 traded 2 more #1's in the curry deal along with a #2.

so he's given up 4 more picks than he's acquired in his tenure here and considering his drafting ability...that's really a shame.

first round picks - frye, nate, lee
second roung picks - ariza

that's 4 members of your rotation with one possible standout in frye. a few more #1's and we'd be sitting pretty. big knock AGAINST zeke for giving up picks instead of using them.

If this is the math, then the Q deal was a net 0 cause we gave a 2nd rd pick back to the suns as well.

But, why not also consider undrafted prospects such Dermarr and JB as picks, in that sense. We stole a first round pick from Minny when we took JB out of the NBDL. Same goes for Dermarr since he was an ATL first rounder. One might also take the time to compare who IT got from his draft picks versus those we gave away. I don't think I have the time for that, but I'd wager I am happy with IT.

You know I gonna spin wit it

go take a look at the 04 draft and some of the guys Isiah gave up a shot at for Marbury.

then take a look at the current Knicks and the big gaping holes at point guard, perimeter defense, and interior defense, with no chance to sure up the problem in sight. The longterm tradeoff for lottery-Steph wasn't worth it.

we'll see where the Bulls pick and who is available there in 05 and 06 vs where Curry and NY is if that trade was also another Isiah gross miscalculation.

Ummm let me think...Because they're not?!? Geezus, Dermarr isn't even on the freaking team anymore. Oh wait, does that mean that we waived a first rd pick who didn't even play a full season with us?

You can't just compare the picks like that. If Isiah had tanked before the Marbury deal we would have picked a lot higher than they eventually did in 2004, more than likely in the lottery. We could have picked a lot higher in all of the drafts and had tons of cap room in 2007 if we had just done that.

You have a real infatuation with draft picks and I'm wondering why is that. Most guys after the lottery picks are just complimentary players anyway and you rarely will find more than one to three superstars in every draft. With that said Isiah still has two expiring contracts to play with around the trading deadline and I'm sure he'll figure out how to get another draft pick because he has to know that out of all of his moves his best skill is drafting. If Qyntel works out then I'll be happy if not than what did we lose.....Matt Barnes?

I still dont think some of you guys get it, Jim Dolan and Cablevision DO NOT want the Knicks(you can even throw the Rangers into this mix) to EVER be tanking, THEY LOSE MONEY. Jim Dolan has been in control of the Knicks and MSG since 1997. In that time span there has been Ernie Grunfeld/Ed Tapscott/Dave Checketts, Scott Layden(hired in 1999-2000) and Isiah Thomas(hired in 2003) running the New York Knicks, never once have you even heard at ANY talk of the team tanking (granted from 97-2000 the Knicks were a pretty decent team and still in the playoffs, so there was no reason to tank becuase they were still a playoff team.)

After that Scott Layden is hired and there are PLENTY of times where Layden could have or would have tanked the season if he could have, but Mr. Dolan makes so much profit off of the Knicks and the Rangers ticket prices and merchandising that it makes no sense for him to be telling GM's to be tanking as long as they are still making money. Stephon Marbury and Jaromir Jagr are players that put fannies in the seats, they are attractions that get people to come watch and that is EXACTLY what Dolan wants, its money in his pocket, if winning comes along with these EVEN BETTER, but if not Dolan doesn't care becuase every year Cablevision is still returning profits. Tanking is NOT a option for this ownership.

Islefans, u a funny guy.

Chauncey was stuck in the league as a often injured player who was a tweener. Not quite a point guard not quite a 2. Washington gave up on RIP. Ben Wallace was dropped by a bunch of teams before he actually stuck. Rasheed was had fans at his home stadium holoding up signs that represented their disgust with the guy. Corliss William has been on how many teams? Lindsey Hunter has been on how many teams? They even picked up McDyess soon after.

Think again when you say 'what a joke'.

Basically, the way to look at a move like the Wood signing is that we didn't give up anything. So if Woods doesn't turn out, we didn't lose. If he matures and plays up to his potential, it could be a plus - maybe a big plus.

I think Q Woods is the type of player we need to take a risk on. He may not work out at all for us. Im not saying he is going to be a stud or anything.

But we need someone who is cappable of handling the scoring load at G/F. Q.Woods has the size and talent to be able to do so if he were to work out. Maybe if he works hard in practice and we let him get looks he ends up fitting and do well in his role. Maybe not. But as a fan I hope for the best.

i have a problem when we outbid ourselves for players no one else wants. but picking up guys like dermarr, jackie butler, jermaine jackson, and now qyntel on the cheap, it really is low risk, possibly high reward. let's see what the kid does.

Bonn, what drafts have been strong and what drafts have been weak in your eyes? Last years, which was very deep? The year before which was glittered with talent, but maybe not as deep?
When this year's rookies, despite being a year younger, annihilate the sophomores on all-star weekend and as year's go on and we see the accomplishments of this year's and last year's drafts, you'll see that this year's was strong (and one you want to have multiple 1st rounders in) while the prior year's was weak (and one where it's okay to use the picks as trade assets).
