Two professional basketball players murdered
CONNECTICUT (AP) -- A middle-aged, balding white man wearing clothing entirely purchased from the University of Connecticut was arrested today on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, prohibited use of a weapon, and discharge of that weapon after police responding to a call to the New York Knicks' practice facility captured him while he attempted to flee the scene. Details are limited at the moment, but it has been rumored that the man confronted the players in a restricted area after a team practice and may have used a double-barreled shotgun, found in the man's vehicle by police, to kill the two. The Knicks' Nate Robinson and David Lee were declared dead at the scene, victims of an apparent shooting spree by the accused gunman. Police have yet to determine the man's motive for the killing of the two well-known basketball players, and the man's court-appointed lawyer had little to say when asked about the case. "Something about it 'being for the good of the ultimateknicks forums', whatever that means," the attorney said before rushing off to prepare for the case. The National Basketball Association was in what is best described as a state of shock after receiving news of the double murders. All games tonight are postponed until further notice.

Number ones from Houston may not mean much, once TMac gets back and the team gets rolling. So based on that, and the fact I don't like anyone in the deal except Wesley from Houston, no.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

uh oh...briggs is pissed AND he's close to a keyboard...DANGER NATE ROBINSON...DANGER!!!

Unfortunately it's going to come back and bite us in the arse. They didnt even want to sign Curry, and we gave them fair compensation with Sweetney, and then their GM did a number on us.BELIEVE me there are going to be MUCH better players than David Lee in the lottery, better players than Eddie Curry in each of the next 2 years. Not to mention Mike Sweetney is starting to go 20-10. You can always bid up a scker with panic in his eyes.

what sucks about mike is that he was never going to get that opportunity here that he is getting in chicago. good for him. he was my favorite knick the past 2 years and now that he's getting the ball, he's showing everyone what he can do. good player.

giving up the 2 #1's...well that's isiah's MO but you still make this trade. we put ourselves in a position where we have to take risks on players and have to sweeten the pot to get them. curry wanted to play here but he was still a health risk. paxson wasn't going to lose him for nothing so he got the 2 #1's + a solid player. we had to pay it b/c we are willing to take a risk on a 22 year old center (and if you're going to take a risk, it's with this type of player). now, let's hope we make the playoffs. this is like pheonix getting diaw AND 2 #1's from atlanta for joe johnson - a player they are starting to sour on.

eddy has a LIFETIME in front of him at a position that's VERY tough to fill. so we had to make it.

but now we have to start curtailing our overspending on trades. enough of the big contracts. now it's time to play these young guys and let them grow together.

no thanks. Even with Houston struggling those are going to be late #1s and this draft will be very weak after 10 or so.

Swift is nice but he's an egnimatic MLE caliber player. The rest is fodder.

A resounding no

drafts are going to be better because there will be better players coming out of college with the talent pool increased thanxx to the age limit rules. Tougher competition produces tougher competitors.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

We did NOT give up 2#1's. Get the facts straight. We gave up 1#1 pick and depending on where that pick is the possibility of switching picks but we gave up only ONE #1 pick. For a healthy curry (which he is) that was not fair compensation.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

We gave up this years #1 with no protection. Unles the pick is 26-30 it goes to Utah. We could win the lottery but Chi would be drafting Rudy Gay, not us.
We gave up second round picks in 2007 and 2009
We gave right to swap #1's in 2007 based on whoever's is higher. Again.. if we won the lottery its Chicago's spot.

So god forbid we have ANY setbacks in the next couple of years (see recent Knick history) and we secure a high pick in 06 or 07 we dont get it.

I like Eddie Curry but this trade was FAR from a steal. We paid through the gills to get him. You better hope he's franchise talent because thats what's at stake. Thats what we gambled.

Anyway we are built to win now and have a great coach. Its only a matter of time right
