here's the deal...we saw our future. and we need someone to lead them.

WE NEED A LEADER.

could you imagine this unit with kobe?

Even a TJ Ford.

even with TJ we would still lack a gamebreaker

Frye and Curry are our gamebreakers. They will get there. Craw can be our fourth quarter scorer and so can Steph. The Pistons show you can win without a bonafide superstar from the wing.

Who's the Spurs superstar wing player?

Some guys are obsessed with getting a huge superstar wing player, but there are other ways to win. Pounding it inside to 6'11" horses is one way. We wouldn't need a game breaker so much if AD wasn't obsessed with putting us in a hole every 1st and 3rd quarter.

Actually I'm a bigman guy. Ewing, Duncan are my favorite players but those guys dont grow on trees. A guy like Rip Hamilton can take over a game. Why? because he's a good shooter. I love Curry and Frye but we can't rely on them alone because Curry has a heart problem and tires after 25mins and Frye is still a rookie.

Yeah, they'd all be standing around watching him jack 20 something shots a game. Kobe is not a leader by a long shot, he is just a great individual talent. Maybe the best in the league. But definitely not a leader.

Three questions:

Who exactly do you all want us to get?

How would we get them?

And how well would they fit into LB's TEAM?

This is why it's called rebuilding. Frye will get there and Curry will too. Curry doesn't have a heart problem.

the big difference is that kobe will take the big shots down the stretch and he will make them.

fair enough. but just looking at what happened, the team was down 11 points with 4 mins to go and he sits down the starting point guard. was he sending him a message? was steph tired? was he not happy with steph's play?

I don't know, neither do you. But c'mon, let's see it happen a few more times before it becomes a big deal. Do we have to revisit the "Milwaukee bumblef-ck news reports Isiah Thomas to be fired" again so soon?

nah, we don't have to do that but i'm sure if knickerbloggers.com said something similar, you'd probably be saying the same thing.

Exactly. Kobe has a great feel for game situations.

...sometimes. other times he'll miss while Lamar Odom scores 4pts and the Lakers will lose. Actually, that's most times. The Lakers will be lucky to make the playoffs this year, even in the weakened West.

its not like this is only happening this year. We saw plenty of it last year with Marbury as our #1 option. like him passing it off to crawford with no time left on the clock and we lose. 3games lost on marbury's missed FTs last year, countless missed layups down the stretch because he's too small to score over bigger players, more often than not bricks in the clutch because he's not a good shooter, he's streaky

Ok so Kobe is better and more clutch than Steph..........whats your point. You can take Stephs name out of that sentence and put in EVERY single player in the league and say that. Our offense is still a work in progress. We have seen Steph take over games for stretches, but he is not unstoppable when his jumper isn't falling. He has to work hard to score especially when he is driving hard to the rack and there are no shooters to kick it out to.

Craw SUCKS on defense. Lets talk about that.

stephon marbury is best when he can dribble for a while, drive, look for his shot, or, take his man of the dribble and score, or dish off at the last second, kinda like what he did in phoenix, unfortunately this offense doesnt allow him to do that. but I have seen improvement from him though trying to adjust to brown, it just seems like he has little passion, and confidence, unlike nate when he was diving for loose balls with seconds to go in the fourth when things were practically hopeless.

Craw does not suck on defense. He can't cover Bryant though.

AD sucks on defense. And offense for that matter. I still say he cost us the game in the third quarter. We'd get better D from a cow grazing in the lane. At least the cow might pay attention or box out.

Smoke and mirrors.

Diving for loose balls, like Nate, is way over-rated. Thats really all that nate does consistantly well at this point.

craw is absolute doo doo on defense. we can start 10 threads about it and i'll agree every time. but i understand where he is as a player and in his development. he has a long long way to go.

yes, our offense is a work in progress and times will be tough and we will be adjusting. i see steph legitimately trying hard to fit in. i see him really making a difference defensively. and that's awesome. but, imho, i would like to see us utilize his best skillset and that's his scoring ability...and that's seems to be taken away from him. and if we don't utilize that, then you get a stat line that's very much brevin knight-ish. that's my whole thing. let him do what he does best and let someone else try to run the team. that's all i'm saying.

Hard work, hustle, energy, giving up your body, and leaving everything on the court is overated? He's just playing out of control, like is expected of ALMOST ALL rookies. But since he's a Knick rookie he has to be the 3rd coming of MJ from the time he took his first baby steps. Let's see if he improves by the all-star break. If not, maybe some of the complaints about him will have more merit.
