baby step man, baby step.

Then he's not "Rip" right now, he's Jamal "Scratch" Crawford.

i was actually thinking the ceiling for crawford could be, almost, the new reggie miller. he has the speed and has been cutting off the ball really well. his range is more like reggie's than rips. he plays a solid 4th quarter and has hit some big shots, although he's definitely not as icy clutch as reggie. reggie was never a great defender, but got by. plus, crawford has the handle to create a shot better and run an offense for stretches.

just a thought.

No, he's not that great running through screens or catch and shoot. His best game is a small dribble drive and find that soft 12-15 foot spot. He can take spot up 3s--no more than 2-3 a game tops, but 90% of his shots should be within that 12-15 foot radius or dribble drive to the hoop.

Hey maybe getting a so called low IQ b-ball player for scraps might work out after all with a demanding coach with a plan.

the guy has a spectacular mid-range jumper. I would say its easily a top 3 nBA mid range jumper--its so pure, so soft. I feel like when he shoots from 12 feet he could make it better than 60% of the time. Although he still takes terrible shots once in awhile--if this guy stays within 12-15 feet, hes a very serious weapon. I think this clearly defines him as a two guard who can move over to point, but that mid-range jumper will define his game and make the Knicks more formidable.

BRIGGS, I was thinking the EXACT same thing as I was watching the last game. After Breen had pointed out that Craw had been shooting 50% from the field for the past few games, I thought, "You know almost all of his misses are coming from the bad shots. When he takes a good shot he almost never misses. He must be shooting something like 70-80%? If he can cut down on the bad shots he will be a lethal weapon for the Knicks."

I also think his D has improved leaps and bounds from last year, already, along with the rest of the team.

Not sure that Craw will ever be a full-time pg - but being able to stop and pop from 12-15 and take it to the hoop are great skills for a pg. When a PG running the break can consistently make the 15 footer he can stop at the foul line and force the defense to commit.
