Are you kidding? Was anyone paying attention to who was playing for Utah? And we only outscored them two of the four quarters... I can't believe the excitement over this win...bring on the Pistons!

I would agree if we hadn't been holding every single team to under their average. this is unbelievable! remember how bad the D was last year?!
Good point. Looks like LB is preaching defense.

You are a joke. What qualifies as grounds for excitement? Would it be exciting to you if all your predictions of doom came true? You represent a vocal minority of pessimistic slugs posing as realists. You are a downer. Nobody likes people like you. What is your purpose for post in this thread? Did you address the topic? Or are you just here to be Captain Killjoy?

That aside, I can't believe the Knicks just bounced back from a 5 game slide by posting back to back wins, on back to back nights, on a trip out west. I especially can't believe that they did it by playing tough defense. I can't believe the transformation some players are going through right before our eyes. I don't expect them to sustain this until they really begin to gel, but this was a nice peek in to the potential of our squad.

PS: Love ya, Knight!!

I think we lose that game against any other team. How can your defense NOT look good against a hobbled rookie, Andre Owens, Palacio, Ostertag, Jarron Collins, and other third and fourth tier players? All we needed to stop was Okur and he seemed to disappear.

sometimes the toughest game to win is against an undermanned team playing lousy ball. those are the ones you have to really "slog" out without the natural adrenaline of a fast-paced well-played game. it's a different type of challenge, and i didn't expect us to play real well, but well enough to get the w, which we did. a team that wants to get good has to grind that type out and do what it takes. that's why i was satisfied. plus of course being win-starved in general!

That doesn't make sense to me. Why is it hard to beat a really bad team again?

Knight...because you have a tendency to take it easy and play down to their level.

And that's why I wasn't excited about the win, the best teams don't do that especially when they are hungry as the Knicks should be for a win.

you know that sports cliche - "playing down to another tems's level?" i think there's a letdown when you don't see the other team's best players out there. when you're feeling like it's just expected that you're getting the w. contrast that with the energy and fire you saw from them when they went out to face bibby, peja, miller, bonzi, sar, etc.

^I'm looking forward to some better competition to see how far we've improved after getting a couple wins. LA and Denver should push us.

for a team in our situation...which is clearly developing, every win counts now. we just started the season 0-5 where our lowest point came in the 2nd half vs. portland. we built upon that game with a win sunday. and then proceeded to build upon that one to win last night. we're building something...and now we're also winning in the process.
it all comes down to defense...
